Kabul Tipi

Open access (accesso libero) WITH a compulsory qualifying admission test. The programme's own page states: 'The Master program in Molecular Biotechnology is a postgraduate degree without a restricted number of places. However, candidates are subjected to a preliminary verification of the specific curricular and personal requirements.' There is no numerus clausus ranking and no TOLC, SAT, GRE or GMAT. Instead there is a programme-specific written verification test (multiple-choice, held online) that must be passed with a score of at least 60% in order to enrol. Two application routes exist: (a) applicants holding a FOREIGN degree (any citizenship) apply through the Apply@UniTo portal (apply.unito.it, course 393); (b) applicants holding an ITALIAN Bachelor degree apply through MyUniTo using 'Iscrizioni > Pre-iscrizione ai corsi ad accesso libero'. A territorial cap applies only to one group: 50 places are reserved for non-European applicants residing abroad. Italian graduates of class L-2 (Biotechnology) or L-13 (Biological Sciences) with a final mark of at least 102/110 are exempt from the verification test.

  • All dates and admission rules shown are for A.Y. 2026/27; the A.Y. 2027/28 calls, dates and test session are not published yet.
  • The test page lists only the 16 September 2026 session; it does not say whether applicants from the Apply@UniTo first call (closed 29 January 2026) take the test on another date.
  • The 102/110 figure has two uses: for Apply@UniTo applicants (foreign qualification) it is the minimum final grade (9.3/10), while for holders of an Italian L-2 or L-13 degree it is the threshold for exemption from the verification test.
  • English: Apply@UniTo applicants must upload a B2 certificate of one of the listed types, while holders of an Italian degree sign a self-declaration; no exemption for native speakers or for degrees taught in English is published.
  • The official 10-credit list prints 'SEC-S/01, SEC-S/02'; the statistics sector codes are SECS-S/01 and SECS-S/02, as shown here.
  • The 2026/27 catalogue lists the degree class LM-9 with the reformed code 'LM-9 R - Biotecnologie mediche, veterinarie e farmaceutiche'.
  • Enrolment deadline for holders of a foreign qualification: the programme page gives 14 January 2027, 3 p.m. for all candidates, while the University's page on enrolment for international students lets admitted students of free-admission programmes who still miss documents pay the first instalment until 31 March 2027, 3 p.m.; which date applies to them is not stated on the programme page.
  • Indicative tuition: in A.Y. 2025/26 fees ranged from EUR 156 to EUR 2,800 per year, depending on the student's financial situation; for A.Y. 2026/27 the University of Turin sets fees by ISEE or, for students resident abroad, by the GDP per capita (PPP) of the country of residence.
