ACCEPTED DEGREES (either route). Route A — a first-level (Bachelor) degree recognised at European level, or an equivalent title, in one of: Biology, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, Animal Breeding, or Veterinary Medicine. Route B — a DIFFERENT first-level (Bachelor) degree, provided the academic background includes a MINIMUM OF 36 ECTS CREDITS in the following core disciplines: anatomy, physiology, microbiology, parasitology, zoology, ecology, and genetics. For Italian students these are identified by the Italian scientific-disciplinary sectors (SSD): VET/01, VET/02, VET/05, VET/06, BIO/05, BIO/07, BIO/18, AGR/07, AGR/16. The 36 ECTS is a cumulative total across those disciplines, not a per-discipline minimum. DOCUMENTARY EVALUATION: 'Students are requested to provide a documentation proving the fulfilment of the abovementioned requirements. The secretary office will evaluate the documentation and a feedback will be given on the possible admission to the Master's Course.' For non-EU applicants this pre-check is an explicit first step performed by email to wmcc@uniss.it, and positive feedback is required BEFORE the applicant may register on Universitaly. The enrolment page adds that for holders of a non-listed bachelor's degree the sufficiency of the background is 'assessed by the evaluation of the transcripts of records'. CONDITIONAL / INCOMPLETE DEGREE: candidates who have not yet completed the bachelor's degree or the required credits may be temporarily admitted — 'Students have time to achieve the above mentioned title/credits by December 31st, and in the meantime they can temporarily be admitted and proceed with a conditional registration to the Master's Course. In any case, the enrolment procedure must be completed by mid January.' NON-EU SEAT CAP: a maximum of 15 non-EU students may be admitted per intake ('no overall limitation (max 15 non-EU students)'). This cap is published ONLY on the Department of Veterinary Medicine pages (veterinaria.uniss.it) and is absent from the university-level uniss.it course page, which advertises only 'accesso libero'. ENGLISH AS AN ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT: 'Admission is conditional upon possession of a B2 level of knowledge of the English language.' ENTRY TEST FORMAT (see entry_exam_or_test for full detail): a 25-question multiple-choice academic test that is explicitly NON-BINDING for admission ('The multiple choice test does not affect the student's admission but is only aimed at assessing the initial preparation' / 'The test result is not binding for admission purposes; it is designed to ascertain students' initial knowledge'), plus an English-language interview that also probes previous experience and motivation and is the component that actually determines admission. NOTE: attendance at lectures is not compulsory ('Attendance at lectures and practical activities is not compulsory'), although the key-information box describes the study mode as 'compulsory lectures and practical activities' — a contradiction between the department summary box and the Manifesto.

• CEFR B2 in English is the minimum and is a condition of admission: 'Admission is conditional upon possession of a B2 level of knowledge of the English language.' THREE ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO SATISFY IT, all officially accepted and treated as equivalent: (1) assessment during the entry-test interview — the department page states 'English level B2 (assessed during the entry test)' and the Manifesto 'English level B2 (certificated or assessed during the entry test)'; the interview is 'aimed at evaluating the knowledge of English language' and to 'assess English language interaction skills'
• (2) a CEFR certificate — 'submitting a corresponding (Common European Framework of Reference for languages - CEFR) certificate'
• (3) prior university examinations — 'The English level B2 (or higher) can be also proven by having passed university examinations of equivalent level.' NO FIXED SCORE TABLE IS PUBLISHED. UNISS/WMCC does NOT publish a list of accepted certificates or minimum IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge/Duolingo scores anywhere on the official pages; the only stated standard is the CEFR B2 level itself. This means a candidate without a certificate is NOT excluded — the interview route is a genuine, officially sanctioned alternative. Non-EU applicants are asked to send an English certificate with the preliminary documentation only 'if you have it' ('Also, if you have it, please send a certificate of knowledge of the English language'), confirming it is optional rather than mandatory. No Italian-language requirement exists for admission or graduation.

• YES — a compulsory two-part entry test, but ONLY ONE PART ACTUALLY GATES ADMISSION. PART 1 — WRITTEN MULTIPLE-CHOICE TEST, 25 questions across five subject blocks: Anatomy and Physiology (5 questions), Microbiology (5), Vertebrate Zoology (5), Animal Ecology (5), Genetics (5). This part is EXPLICITLY DIAGNOSTIC AND NON-BINDING — it does NOT affect admission. The department states it twice, unambiguously: 'The test result is not binding for admission purposes; it is designed to ascertain students' initial knowledge' and 'The multiple choice test does not affect the student's admission but is only aimed at assessing the initial preparation.' There is no pass mark, no threshold score and no ranking derived from it; its purpose is to let the course identify knowledge gaps in the incoming cohort. Candidates should therefore not treat it as a competitive exam. PART 2 — INTERVIEW, conducted in English. This is the component that actually determines admission. Its stated purposes are 'to ascertain previous experience and motivation to participate in the course, and to assess English language interaction skills', and it is 'aimed at evaluating the knowledge of English language and degree of motivation to attend the course'. Since admission 'is conditional upon possession of a B2 level of knowledge of the English language' and B2 may be evidenced by the interview itself, the interview is the operative gate: a candidate whose English is judged below B2 (and who holds no equivalent certificate or university examination) fails the admission condition regardless of the multiple-choice score. MODALITY: the test is held online. The official WMCC 'how to enroll' page for the 2024/2025 intake stated 'participate in the entry test that will be held online on 16/9/2024 at 9.30 a.m.' with 'an interview (in English)'. The 2026/2027 schedule PDF does not restate the platform or start time, so the exact conferencing tool and time for each 2026/2027 round should be confirmed with wmcc@uniss.it. REGISTRATION: candidates must first create an account on Self Studenti Uniss (uniss.esse3.cineca.it), then pre-enrol for a specific test session via Registrar's Office > start registration > course type > test type > confirm > upload identity document; a step-by-step tutorial PDF is published by the department. • FOR THE PRELIMINARY ELIGIBILITY CHECK (non-EU applicants, emailed to wmcc@uniss.it — and in substance the same evidence any applicant must supply to the secretary's office): 'you must send: the identity document, the CV, the Secondary School Certificate, the First Degree Level (Bachelor) Certificate, Academic Transcript of Records of the First Degree. Also, if you have it, please send a certificate of knowledge of the English language.' So: (1) identity document / passport; (2) curriculum vitae; (3) secondary school (high school) certificate; (4) bachelor's degree certificate; (5) academic transcript of records of the bachelor's degree — this is the document used to verify the 36-ECTS core-discipline requirement for non-listed degrees; (6) English language certificate — OPTIONAL ('if you have it'), since B2 can instead be assessed at the interview. FOR THE ENTRY-TEST REGISTRATION on Self Studenti Uniss: an identity document must be uploaded as part of the online pre-enrolment steps. FOR UNIVERSITALY PRE-ENROLMENT (non-EU only): personal and academic details plus supporting documents, 'such as your passport. Each document must be uploaded as a single item'; a confirmation email follows. The department advises 'Keep copies of all documents you submit, as you may need them for your visa or residence permit application' and 'Keeping a copy of the pre-enrolment form is highly advisable.' NOT REQUIRED: no motivation letter, reference letters, research proposal, portfolio or application fee are listed as separate documents — motivation is instead probed orally in the interview. Standard Italian legalisation items (Declaration of Value / CIMEA statement of comparability, translated and legalised diplomas) are not itemised on the WMCC pages but are normally requested by the consulate at the visa stage.
