A.Y. 2026/27 (Programme Educational Regulations section 6 and programme FAQ). A bachelor's degree (preferably a Bachelor of Science) of at least three years and 180 ECTS, with at least 30 ECTS in mathematics and physics and at least 15 ECTS in computer science; an adequate background in information and industrial engineering (computer engineering, electronics, telecommunications, mathematics, physics). Applicants from non-engineering / non-STEM backgrounds are not eligible. An Admission Committee evaluates CV, qualifications, background and motivation; international applicants must meet ALL academic requirements before applying (no curricular integrations are assigned to them - the application is rejected otherwise), while the committee may place up to 5-10 computer-science courses inside the 120-ECTS study plan for applicants with a weak computer-science background. Italian degrees: admissible classes L-8, L-9, L-7, L-31, L-30 or L-35 (or the credit rule above); automatic admission for L-8 graduates with a weighted average of at least 21/30 (degree in 3 years) or 22/30 (4 years or more) and for other Italian engineering graduates with at least 24/30; final-year Italian students may apply with 145 certified ECTS. Foreign degrees: must give access to EQF level 7, contain subjects closely related to the programme, meet Politecnico di Milano's strict country-specific minimum CGPA where one is set, and be obtained before enrolment (final-year students may apply).

  • No application dates for A.Y. 2027/28 are published yet (checked 27 September 2026); the deadlines, academic requirements, documents and test information shown are for A.Y. 2026/27 and will change when Polimi publishes the 2027/28 calendar. The English certificate list is the one Polimi has already published for A.Y. 2027/28.
  • The document list is not dated; the application fee amounts (EUR 50 / EUR 150) and the 31 October / 31 March deadlines for the Declaration of Value or CIMEA statement shown are the A.Y. 2026/27 ones.
  • Official sources differ on when the English certificate is needed: the Admissions Office page and the programme FAQ say the application can be submitted without it (it is needed for the admission letter, scholarships, visa and enrolment), while the 2026/27 programme regulations say the certificate must be included in the application. The information shown follows the Admissions Office page; uploading the certificate with the application avoids the problem.
  • The programme FAQ calls the CV recommended, while the Admissions Office list for applicants with a foreign degree marks it mandatory; the stricter rule is shown.
  • The automatic-admission averages (21/30, 22/30 and 24/30) apply only to applicants with an Italian bachelor's degree. Applicants with a foreign degree are checked against Polimi's country-specific minimum CGPA, which is not listed here for each country.
  • The number of places (85, of which 20 for non-EU students living abroad) is the A.Y. 2026/27 figure; the programme FAQ says it can change every year.
  • The programme's English web page says its information refers to A.Y. 2025/26; the requirements shown follow the A.Y. 2026/27 programme regulations.
  • The Universitaly visa dates for A.Y. 2027/28 are not published yet; the end-of-June and 30 November dates shown are for A.Y. 2026/27.
  • Polimi's 2026/27 programme regulations announce a new Master's admission model from A.Y. 2028/29; it does not apply to A.Y. 2026/27 or 2027/28.
