  • A.Y. 2026/27 (2027/28 dates not yet published on 27 September 2026). Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

A.Y. 2026/27 (programme page and Didactic Regulations 2026/27; the regulation sets the same thresholds for A.Y. 2026/27 and 2027/28). A Bachelor's degree (or higher) is required; a foreign degree must be obtained before enrolment, give access to EQF level 7 and contain subjects closely related to the programme. Italian-degree applicants: Polimi students may apply if they are candidates in the next graduation session, students of other Italian universities if they graduate by the end of November (1st semester admission) or the end of March (2nd semester admission); the bachelor must be completed in at most 6 years (N <= 6, obtained no later than 31 March of the sixth year after first enrolment) and the credit-weighted average must reach the adjusted threshold SC = S + k*(N-3): Polimi Biomedical Engineering, other Polimi Engineering BSc and Polimi Industrial Designers/Architects S = 23, k = 0.5; Biomedical Engineering graduates of other Italian universities 24.5 + k*(N-3); other graduates of other Italian universities 26.5 + k*(N-3); graduates with at least 2 years of work experience in fields related to Biomedical Engineering 26.5. Italian graduates' records are 'coherent' with at least 45 base credits and 80 characterising credits in the L-8 (Information Engineering) or L-9 (Industrial Engineering) areas, plus track-specific SSD prerequisites; missing prerequisites must be completed through single courses before enrolment. Foreign-degree applicants need an adequate background in fundamental engineering subjects and disciplines relevant to Biomedical Engineering; coherence is checked by examining their previous study records (the Commission's decision is unappealable), and Polimi's strict country-specific minimum CGPA applies where one is set (e.g. India 70/100, China 80%, Bangladesh 3.3/4). The Clinical Engineering (BCI) track has limited places (max 25) and is not available to graduates of foreign institutions or of bachelor's programmes outside Biomedical Engineering.

Dil yeterliliği

A.Y. 2027/28 (Admissions Office list 'updated for A.Y. 2027/2028'). An English certificate is required for all MSc applicants: TOEFL iBT / TOEFL Home Edition at least 78 for tests taken until 20/01/2026 or at least 4.5 for tests taken from 21/01/2026 (paper-based at least 547, computer-based at least 210; Polimi TOEFL code 9795); TOEIC at least 785 Listening & Reading + at least 310 Speaking & Writing; Cambridge Proficiency or Advanced pass at grade C, First pass at grade B; IELTS Academic or General Training at least 6; Trinity College ISE II or higher; PTE Academic overall at least 59; Pearson PEIC overall at least 59; LanguageCert ESOL B2 Communicator (4 skills). Certificates considered expired by the issuing institution are not accepted. Exemption: a bachelor degree taught in English for at least 3 years, proven by a university document confirming that at least 75% of the courses were taught in English. For foreign-degree applicants the certificate is not needed to submit the application and does not affect the evaluation, but it is mandatory to obtain the admission letter, merit scholarships, the visa and to enrol (Italian-degree applicants must provide it in order to be accepted). Italian: the programme can be completed entirely in English, so applicants who intend to study in English can disregard the application system's request for an Italian certificate; those choosing the Italian/English mixed path need an Italian B2 certificate (CLIQ institutions). All students with a foreign qualification must prove Italian language proficiency in order to graduate (this is not an entry requirement): either upload an Italian B2 certificate issued by an institution recognised by the Italian Ministry of University upon enrolment, or attend Polimi's free Italian course and pass its exit test (a minimum score is required).

Sınav / değerlendirme

none - A.Y. 2026/27: no entrance test; admission is by evaluation of the academic record by the Evaluation Commission (adjusted weighted-average thresholds and curricular prerequisites for Italian graduates, assessment of the study record for foreign graduates). The GRE General Test is optional for Engineering applicants (no minimum score, Polimi code 0495) and may strengthen the application. No portfolio is required (mandatory only for Architecture, Urban Planning and Policy Design and Design programmes).

  • No A.Y. 2027/28 application calls or dates had been published by 27 September 2026. Deadlines, documents and test information are for A.Y. 2026/27 and will change when Politecnico di Milano publishes the 2027/28 calendar. The 2026/27 Didactic Regulations already set the same admission thresholds for A.Y. 2026/27 and 2027/28, and the list of accepted English certificates is already the one updated for A.Y. 2027/28.
  • The value of the penalty factor k for graduates of other Italian universities is not printed in the published regulations text; for Polimi graduates k = 0.5.
  • Timing of the English certificate: the Admissions Office page says it is not needed to submit the application (it is needed for the admission letter, merit scholarships, the visa and enrolment), while the Didactic Regulations list English certification among the admission requirements. The information shown follows the Admissions Office page for applicants with a foreign degree.
  • For A.Y. 2026/27 the Polimi language page also accepted TOEIC 720 Listening & Reading for tests registered by 28 February 2026; the list updated for A.Y. 2027/28 keeps only 785 Listening & Reading plus 310 Speaking & Writing.
  • The document list is the Admissions Office list for applicants with a foreign degree; applicants with an Italian degree apply through Polimi Online Services with a different procedure, whose document list is not shown here. Candidates claiming exceptional conditions must attach supporting documents to the application.
  • The Didactic Regulations announce a new Master's admission model from A.Y. 2028/29; it does not change admissions for 2026/27 or 2027/28.
