One application per semester, maximum two programmes. Applicants with an Italian degree (School of Industrial and Information Engineering): Semester I 6 July - 26 August 2026
Semester II 7 January - 18 February 2027 (applications open at 10.30 am CEST on the first day). All 2026/27 foreign-degree windows have closed; only the Italian-degree Semester II window is still ahead.
For non-EEA applicants abroad with foreign qualifications in Engineering, use the general Engineering calls; the additional call is limited to EEA and non-EEA resident in Italy. February 2027 intake is listed only for Engineering.
A.Y. 2026/27 (Educational Regulations 2026/27, Section 6). A first-cycle (Bachelor, EQF level 6) degree or comparable qualification is required; final-year students may apply (Italian-degree applicants: final-year students with at least 145 certified ECTS; foreign-degree applicants: the Bachelor must be obtained before enrolment and must give access to EQF level 7). Required background: a bachelor in class L-7 (Civil and Environmental Engineering), L-8 (Information Engineering), L-9 (Industrial Engineering) or L-31 (Computer Science), or more generally a degree of at least three years / 180 credits with at least 20 credits in INF/01 or ING-INF/05, at least 20 credits in MAT/01-MAT/09 and SECS-S/01 and at least 10 credits in FIS/01-FIS/08; the same criteria apply to foreign degrees when the subject areas can be identified, otherwise the Admission Committee evaluates the career. Automatic admission only for Polimi graduates of the continuity bachelors (Computer, Mathematical, Electronic, Automation or Physics Engineering) with at least 105 credits and a weighted average of at least 24/30 by the autumn session of the 2nd year, graduating within four years. All other candidates are evaluated case by case (final grade, years to graduate, grades in core subjects preparatory to HPC); admission may carry curricular integrations (exams to pass before enrolling) or study-plan constraints. Foreign-degree applicants: a Bachelor in Computer Science Engineering, Mathematical Engineering or related fields is preferred, and Polimi's country-specific minimum CGPA applies with no exceptions (e.g. Turkey 3 out of 4, India 70 out of 100, Pakistan and Bangladesh 3.3 out of 4, China 80%, Iran 15.5 out of 20). From A.Y. 2028/29 a new admission model for Master's programmes will apply.
A.Y. 2027/28 (Admissions Office list 'updated for A.Y. 2027/2028'). English is required for admission. For applicants with a foreign degree, the Admissions Office says the certificate is not needed to submit the application and does not affect the evaluation, but it is mandatory to obtain the admission letter, merit-based scholarships, the visa and enrolment; the programme's A.Y. 2026/27 Educational Regulations (Section 6.1) state that English 'must be certified, during the application for admission'. Accepted: TOEFL (Polimi code 9795) paper-based at least 547, computer-based at least 210, iBT and TOEFL Home Edition at least 78 for tests taken until 20/01/2026 or at least 4.5 for tests taken from 21/01/2026
TOEIC at least 785 Listening & Reading plus at least 310 Speaking & Writing (720 L&R applied to 2026/27 only)
Cambridge Proficiency grade C, Advanced grade C, First grade B
No general entrance test for most MSc programmes; admission is academic/school evaluation. Design/Architecture/partner programmes may require portfolio, interview, or school-specific assessment .
Online registration in Polimi Online Services and the online application form (one application per semester, up to two MSc programmes)
University qualification: official copy of the Bachelor degree, or an official provisional certificate, or an enrolment document from the university Registrar confirming the final year and, if possible, the expected graduation date (mandatory)
Academic transcript of the Bachelor degree, original with official stamps and signatures, scanned on both sides (mandatory)
Cumulative GPA statement issued by the university, showing the CGPA and the grading scale with the minimum passing grade (mandatory; the transcript or diploma is enough if it shows this)
Curriculum vitae, maximum 2 pages, in English or Italian (mandatory)
Official translation of the degree certificate and transcript if they are not in Italian, English, French or Spanish
5 belge daha
English language certificate, or a university document confirming an English-taught Bachelor (at least 3 years, at least 75% of courses in English): not needed to submit the application, mandatory for the admission letter, scholarships, visa and enrolment
Non-refundable application fee: EUR 50 early bird (1 October - 1 December) or EUR 150 (from 2 December and for the 2nd semester); applications without the fee are not processed
Optional: GRE General Test score (code 0495, no minimum score), letter of recommendation, motivation letter (max 2 pages per programme), detailed course descriptions (max 4 MB)
Identity document (EEA applicants) or valid residence permit (non-EEA residents in Italy), only when applying in the additional call reserved to them
Declaration of Value or CIMEA Statement of Comparability if requested during the evaluation; a valid Diploma Supplement, Declaration of Value or CIMEA certificate is needed to enrol
No application dates for A.Y. 2027/28 are published yet (checked 27 September 2026); the deadlines, academic requirements and documents shown are for A.Y. 2026/27 and will change when Polimi publishes the 2027/28 calendar. The list of accepted English certificates is the one Polimi has already published for A.Y. 2027/28.
Two official sources differ on when the English certificate is needed: the programme's 2026/27 regulations say English must be certified during the application for admission, while the Admissions Office page says applicants with a foreign degree can apply without it (it is needed for the admission letter, scholarships, visa and enrolment). Which rule prevails is not stated.
Non-EU applicants living abroad apply in the foreign-degree Engineering calls listed with the EU deadlines; the additional call of 27 February - 31 March 2026 was open only to EEA students and non-EEA residents in Italy.
The documents shown are those for applicants with a foreign bachelor degree; applicants with an Italian degree apply through Polimi Online Services with a different procedure, whose document list is not shown here.
This programme has no admission test; the general remark about portfolio, interview or school-specific assessment concerns Design, Architecture and partner programmes. The GRE General Test is optional and has no minimum score.
The minimum CGPA examples by country (e.g. Turkey 3/4, India 70/100, China 80%) come from Polimi's foreign-qualification requirements page; other countries have different minimums or none.
Polimi's 2026/27 programme regulations announce a new Master's admission model from A.Y. 2028/29; it does not apply to A.Y. 2026/27.
