A.Y. 2026/27 (the 2027/28 calendar is not published yet). Non-EU applicants living abroad with a foreign degree apply in Politecnico di Milano's Architecture and Design general call: 1 October 2025 - 29 January 2026 (11.59pm CET), early bird deadline 1 December 2025 (application fee EUR 50; EUR 150 from 2 December); outcomes by the end of May 2026. The additional call of 27 February - 31 March 2026 is open only to EEA students and non-EEA residents in Italy. Design programmes admit students only in the 1st semester (no February intake). No programme-specific exception is published. Places 2026/27: 30 of 70 reserved for extra-EU students. Universitaly: Polimi strongly suggests that students admitted to the 1st semester 2026/27 submit the Universitaly visa application by the end of June 2026 (national visa deadline 30 November 2026).
A.Y. 2026/27 (Educational Regulations Section 6, School of Design admission guide). Admissible bachelor degrees: class L-4 Industrial Design; L-3 (Visual Arts, Music, Performing Arts and Fashion) or L-17 (Architecture) only with at least 36 ECTS in the sector CEAR-08/D (formerly ICAR/13); without these the admissions committee may assign curricular integrations (single courses; at most 6 places for this programme in 2026/27) before the assessment. Weighted average of at least 23/30 for Politecnico di Milano candidates and at least 25/30 for candidates from other Italian universities, checked before the assessment. Final-year bachelor students may apply with at least 145 CFU and must graduate by 15 December 2026. Foreign-degree applicants: the same criteria applied to an equivalent qualification judged suitable by the Programme Board, which must allow the subject areas and credits to be identified (otherwise case-by-case assessment), plus Politecnico di Milano's country-specific minimum CGPA where listed (e.g. Turkey 3 out of 4); admission then depends on the assessment of individual preparation (portfolio, CV, motivation letter) and the position in the merit ranking.
A.Y. 2026/27. No written admission test and no interview is published. Assessment of individual preparation by a programme Commission based on the portfolio (or thesis abstract), CV, motivation letter and academic record, followed by a merit ranking on limited places. School of Design procedure for Italian-degree applicants: portfolio / thesis abstract max 50 points (below 30/50 the applicant is ineligible), CV max 20 points, weighted average max 30 points, plus a 5-point bonus for the first option within the School of Design; results on 31 July.
