Application fee EUR 50 early bird (1 October - 1 December), EUR 150 from 2 December and for the 2nd semester. Applicants with an Italian bachelor degree (School of Industrial and Information Engineering): Semester I 6 July - 26 August 2026
Semester II 7 January - 18 February 2027 (applications open from 10.30 am CEST on the opening day).
For non-EEA applicants abroad with foreign qualifications in Engineering, use the general Engineering calls; the additional call is limited to EEA and non-EEA resident in Italy. February 2027 intake is listed only for Engineering.
A.Y. 2026/27 (Teaching Regulations 2026/27, section 6, and programme page). A first-cycle degree (EQF level 6) or comparable qualification is required. An Evaluation Committee decides, without appeal, on the academic record only (work experience is not considered). Italian-degree rules: Polimi Management Engineering graduates with at least 105 CFU and a weighted average of at least 25/30 by the end of the autumn session of the 2nd year and graduation within 4 academic years are admitted directly; otherwise the bachelor must be completed no later than 31 March of the fifth year after first enrolment and the weighted average must not be below the 'adjusted' threshold S + (N-3)/2, where N is the number of years taken for the bachelor and S is 23 for Polimi engineering graduates, 26 for Polimi Industrial Design and Architecture graduates, 26 for engineering graduates of other universities and 27 for graduates in other disciplines of other universities (thresholds valid only for 2026/27; a new admission model starts in 2028/29). Students of other universities must complete all bachelor credits except the final exam when applying and graduate before enrolling. Background: engineering bachelors are admitted without prerequisites; for economics, information technology, physics and mathematics bachelors the regulations' text says no prerequisites while their summary table says prerequisites are 'assigned based on the curriculum'; other backgrounds are assessed individually and may receive prerequisites to be completed (as single courses, max 15 months) before enrolment. All admitted students except Polimi first-level graduates in Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering must pass the six free online MOOCs 'Introduction to Management Engineering Series' on POLIMI POK. Foreign degrees: a valid, officially recognised first-cycle degree with a background consistent with the programme; the Committee checks curricular requirements, the quality of the study programme and the mandatory documents; the degree must give access to EQF level 7 and meet the Admissions Office's country-specific minimum CGPA where one is set (for example India 70/100, China 80%, Turkey 3/4, Iran 15.5/20, Pakistan 3.3/4). English certification is required (see language requirements).
A.Y. 2027/28 (Admissions Office list 'updated for A.Y. 2027/2028'). English is a prerequisite to access the programme. Accepted certificates: TOEFL iBT / Home Edition at least 78 for tests taken until 20/01/2026 or at least 4.5 for tests taken from 21/01/2026 (paper-based at least 547, computer-based at least 210; Polimi TOEFL code 9795); TOEIC at least 785 Listening & Reading + 310 Speaking & Writing (from A.Y. 2027/28; the 720 L&R threshold applied to 2026/27 only); Cambridge Proficiency grade C, Advanced grade C or First grade B; IELTS Academic or General Training at least 6; Trinity ISE II; PTE Academic overall at least 59; Pearson PEIC overall at least 59; LanguageCert ESOL B2 Communicator (4 skills). Certificates considered expired by the issuing body are not accepted. Exemption: a bachelor taught in English for at least 3 years, proven by a university document confirming that at least 75% of the courses were taught in English. Timing: foreign-degree applicants do not need the certificate to submit the application and it does not affect the evaluation, but it is mandatory for the admission letter, merit scholarships, the visa and enrolment; under the programme regulations an Italian-degree applicant without the certificate is accepted but can enrol only after providing it. Italian is not an entry requirement: international students are enrolled with an Italian OFA and must certify Italian (B2) before the graduation exam.
No admission test, no portfolio and no interview (A.Y. 2026/27). Admission is decided by the programme's Evaluation Committee on the academic record only (bachelor duration, weighted average against the 'adjusted' threshold, consistency of the background, English certification); work experience is not considered. After admission, all students except Polimi first-level graduates in Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering must pass the six free online MOOCs 'Introduction to Management Engineering Series' (POLIMI POK). The GRE General Test is optional for Engineering applicants (no minimum score, Polimi code 0495).
Online registration in Polimi Online Services and the online application form (one application per semester, up to two MSc programmes)
Non-refundable application fee: EUR 50 early bird (1 October - 1 December) or EUR 150 (from 2 December and for the 2nd semester) (A.Y. 2026/27 amounts); applications without the fee are not processed

The A.Y. 2027/28 application calendar is not published yet; the dates shown are for A.Y. 2026/27 (in the 2026/27 cycle the first Engineering call for applicants with a foreign degree opened on 1 October 2025).
Non-EU applicants living abroad with a foreign degree use the same A.Y. 2026/27 Engineering calls whose dates are listed with the EU deadlines.
The 'adjusted' average thresholds are expressed on the Italian 30-point grading scale; how they are applied to foreign grading systems is not stated. Applicants with a foreign degree must also meet Polimi's country-specific minimum CGPA where one is set.
The 'adjusted' average thresholds shown are valid for A.Y. 2026/27 only; the thresholds for A.Y. 2027/28 are not published yet, and a new admission model starts in A.Y. 2028/29.
The list of accepted English certificates is the one published for A.Y. 2027/28; the application fees shown (EUR 50 early bird, EUR 150 afterwards) are the A.Y. 2026/27 amounts.
