Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

A.Y. 2026/27 (Educational Regulations section 6, School of Design admission guide, programme page). Admissible degrees: classes L-4 Industrial Design, L-17 Architecture Sciences, L-21 Territorial/Urban/Landscape and Environmental Planning Sciences or L-3 Arts, Music, Performing Arts and Fashion (or an AFAM first-level academic diploma in design / visual arts); other first-level degrees, or equivalent foreign qualifications, only with at least 24 ECTS in the sector CEAR-08/D (formerly ICAR/13) - otherwise the committee assesses design-related education and professional experience and may assign curricular integrations to be completed before assessment (at most 2 places for single-course integrations in 2026/27). Foreign-degree applicants: a bachelor's degree in Design or relevant post-graduate work experience in the design field; the same credit criteria apply where the sectors can be identified, otherwise the academic career is evaluated; plus Politecnico di Milano's strict country-specific minimum CGPA where listed, EQF level 7 access and graduation before enrolment. Italian degrees: weighted average of at least 23/30 (Polimi) or 25/30 (other Italian universities), checked before the assessment; final-year students may apply with at least 145 CFU and must graduate by 15 December 2026. Admission then depends on the assessment of individual preparation (portfolio, CV, motivation letter, academic record) and the position in the merit ranking (100 places in 2026/27, 50 reserved for extra-EU students).

Dil yeterliliği

A.Y. 2027/28 list (Admissions Office, 'updated for A.Y. 2027/2028'): an English certificate at B2 level is required for all MSc applicants; it is not needed to submit the application or to be evaluated, but it is mandatory for the admission letter, merit scholarships, the visa and enrolment. Accepted minimums: TOEFL iBT / Home Edition >= 78 for tests taken until 20/01/2026 or >= 4.5 for tests taken from 21/01/2026 (paper >= 547, computer >= 210; Polimi code 9795); TOEIC >= 785 Listening & Reading + >= 310 Speaking & Writing; Cambridge Proficiency grade C, Advanced grade C or First grade B; IELTS Academic or General Training >= 6; Trinity ISE II; PTE Academic >= 59; Pearson PEIC >= 59; LanguageCert ESOL B2 Communicator (4 skills). Certificates expired according to the issuer are not accepted. Exemption: a bachelor's degree taught in English for at least 3 years, proven by a university document stating that at least 75% of courses were taught in English. Italian is not an entry requirement for this English-taught programme; international students are enrolled with an Italian OFA and must certify Italian before the graduation exam. Programme / School of Design rule (A.Y. 2026/27): English at least B2; Italian-degree applicants must upload the certificate by the application deadline or are excluded; both sections (PS1, PS2) are taught in English, so no Italian certificate is needed to apply.

  • No application dates for A.Y. 2027/28 are published yet (checked 27 September 2026); the deadlines, academic requirements, documents and selection information shown are for A.Y. 2026/27 and will change when Polimi publishes the 2027/28 calendar. The English certificate list is the one Polimi has already published for A.Y. 2027/28.
  • The Italian-degree application window (22 June - 7 July 2026, by 12:00 CEST) is confirmed in the 2026/27 School of Design admission guide.
  • The official call link is the 2026/27 School of Design admission guide, which covers applicants with an Italian degree; applicants with a foreign degree follow the Polimi international procedure and deadlines shown above.
  • Official sources differ on when the English certificate is needed: the Admissions Office page says applicants with a foreign degree can submit the application without it (it is needed for the admission letter, scholarships, visa and enrolment), while the 2026/27 programme regulations say English proficiency must be certified when applying, without limiting this to applicants with an Italian degree. Uploading the certificate with the application avoids the problem.
  • Official sources differ on the motivation letter: the Admissions Office list for applicants with a foreign degree marks it optional, while the 2026/27 programme regulations and School of Design guide include it in the documents for the assessment. Uploading one is advisable.
  • The programme website says a graduating applicant must obtain the degree by 30 November, while the 2026/27 School of Design guide says 15 December 2026; the guide date is shown.
  • The number of places (100, of which 50 for non-EU students living abroad) is the A.Y. 2026/27 figure.
  • Applicants with a foreign degree are checked against Polimi's country-specific minimum CGPA, which is not listed here for each country.
  • The programme's English web page says its information refers to A.Y. 2025/26; the requirements shown follow the A.Y. 2026/27 programme regulations.
  • The Universitaly visa dates for A.Y. 2027/28 are not published yet; the end-of-June and 30 November dates shown are for A.Y. 2026/27.
