Application fee EUR 50 early bird (1 October - 1 December), EUR 150 from 2 December. Applicants with an Italian bachelor degree (AUIC School procedure): Semester I 22 June - 17 July 2026 (results of the first phase by 3 September 2026, first-phase enrolment by 7 September 2026; the degree must be obtained by 15 December 2026); Semester II 7 - 18 January 2027 only if places remain after Semester I (degree by 1 April 2027).
A.Y. 2026/27 (2027/28 dates not published on 27 September 2026). Non-EU applicants living abroad with a foreign bachelor degree apply in the Architecture and Design general call: 1 October 2025 - 29 January 2026 (11.59pm CET; early bird deadline 1 December 2025 with the EUR 50 fee, EUR 150 afterwards); outcomes by the end of May 2026. AUIC School programmes admit students with non-Italian qualifications only in the 1st semester (September); the School may consider deferment requests to the 2nd semester (requests from June to August, subject to available places, EUR 172.20 non-refundable fee if granted). The additional call of 27 February - 31 March 2026 is reserved to EEA students and non-EEA residents in Italy. Extra-EU quota 2026/27: 65 of 90 places. Universitaly visa application: Polimi strongly suggests that students admitted to the 1st semester 2026/27 submit it by the end of June 2026; the national deadline to file the visa request at the Italian diplomatic representation for 2026/27 is 30 November 2026.
A.Y. 2026/27 (Teaching Regulations 2026/27 and programme page). Italian degrees: a bachelor in class L-17 (Architecture) or L-21 (Territorial, Urban and Environmental Planning), or the corresponding classes of D.M. 1648/2023 or D.M. 509/99; graduates in L-25 (Agricultural and Forestry Sciences), L-7 (Civil and Environmental Engineering), L-4 (Industrial Design), L-32 (Environmental and Natural Sciences), L-6 (Geography), L-1 (Cultural Heritage) and L-3 (Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Fashion) may be admitted after verification of their curricular requirements; curricular integrations must be completed before enrolment (enrolment with additional educational obligations is not allowed). Foreign degrees: at least a three-year bachelor in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Urban Planning (or Landscape Planning); bachelors in Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Industrial Design, Environmental and Natural Sciences, Geography, Cultural Heritage, Fine Arts, Performing Arts and Fashion may be admitted subject to verification of curricular requirements; the same criteria apply to EQF level 6 degrees whose disciplinary fields and credits can be identified, otherwise the Programme Board evaluates the career; applicants from foreign systems not divided into bachelor and master must attest the equivalent of 180 ECTS and admission to the fourth year. The foreign degree must give access to EQF level 7 and meet the Admissions Office's country-specific minimum CGPA where one is set (for example India 70/100, China 80%, Turkey 3/4, Iran 15.5/20, Pakistan 3.3/4). In all cases admission requires verification of personal preparation through the documents submitted (CV and portfolio), and English proficiency is part of this assessment. Final-year Italian bachelor students may apply with at least 145 CFU and must graduate by 15 December 2026 for the 1st semester.
A.Y. 2027/28 (Admissions Office list 'updated for A.Y. 2027/2028'). Accepted English certificates: TOEFL iBT / Home Edition at least 78 for tests taken until 20/01/2026 or at least 4.5 for tests taken from 21/01/2026 (paper-based at least 547, computer-based at least 210; Polimi TOEFL code 9795); TOEIC at least 785 Listening & Reading + 310 Speaking & Writing (from A.Y. 2027/28; the 720 L&R threshold applied to 2026/27 only); Cambridge Proficiency grade C, Advanced grade C or First grade B; IELTS Academic or General Training at least 6; Trinity ISE II; PTE Academic overall at least 59; Pearson PEIC overall at least 59; LanguageCert ESOL B2 Communicator (4 skills). Certificates considered expired by the issuing body are not accepted. Exemption: a bachelor taught in English for at least 3 years, proven by a university document confirming that at least 75% of the courses were taught in English. Timing: the 2026/27 Teaching Regulations and the AUIC procedure require the English certificate at the time of the application (Italian-degree applicants without it are not evaluated); for foreign-degree applicants the Admissions Office says the certificate is not needed to submit the application and does not affect the evaluation but is mandatory for the admission letter, scholarships, visa and enrolment [uncertain which timing applies to foreign-degree applicants]. Italian: the programme is taught in English, so no Italian certificate is needed to apply; university pages say international students must prove Italian (B2) before graduating (Italian OFA, not an entry requirement), while the programme's 2026/27 regulations say Italian knowledge is a prerequisite for enrolment, with exemption for holders of at least a B1 Italian certificate and free 40-hour Polimi Italian courses [uncertain: conflicting official wording].
No written admission test (A.Y. 2026/27). Admission is by a selection procedure: comparative evaluation of the previous career based on the CV and the mandatory portfolio, plus documented training and professional experience. In the AUIC School procedure for Italian-degree applicants the Programme may award up to 150 points: up to 110 for the educational CV and weighted average (at least 145 credits), up to 20 for the portfolio, up to 10 for documented traineeships or extra-curricular work and up to 10 for other certified qualifications; a minimum of 100 points is needed to be admissible, the top-ranked candidates are admitted within the places for that semester, and ties are broken by weighted average. Polimi graduates who meet the N/V parameter (104 ECTS / average 27 for students enrolled since 2010/11) and graduate within 4 years are admitted directly. Foreign-degree applicants are evaluated on the same CV and portfolio documents through the International Admissions procedure; no separate point scale is published for them . The GRE General Test is optional for Architecture applicants (no minimum score). No interview is mentioned.
Online application on Polimi Online Services and payment of the non-refundable application fee: EUR 50 early bird (1 October - 1 December) or EUR 150 afterwards (A.Y. 2026/27 amounts; foreign-degree applicants)
Bachelor degree certificate or official provisional certificate; final-year students upload an enrolment document from the Registrar confirming the last year and, if possible, the expected graduation date (mandatory)
Academic transcript of the bachelor degree, original with university stamps/signatures or verifiable by official link/QR code, scanned on both sides (mandatory)
Official translation of the degree certificate and transcript if they are not in Italian, English, French or Spanish (mandatory where applicable)
Cumulative GPA statement issued by the university, showing the CGPA and the grading scale with the minimum passing grade (mandatory, foreign-degree applicants)
Portfolio as one PDF of max 20 MB (mandatory for Architecture programmes; AUIC guidelines: A3 horizontal, 25-30 pages, with projects, professional experience and training)
7 belge daha

Optional: GRE General Test (Architecture and Engineering applicants, no minimum score, code 0495), letter of recommendation, motivation letter, detailed course descriptions (max 4 MB)
Identity document (EEA applicants) or residence permit (non-EEA residents in Italy) only for the additional EEA call, uploaded through the application message area after applying
Declaration of Value or CIMEA Statement of Comparability may be requested at any stage of the evaluation; a Diploma Supplement, Declaration of Value or CIMEA statement is needed for enrolment
The A.Y. 2027/28 application calendar is not published yet; the dates shown are for A.Y. 2026/27 (in the 2026/27 cycle the Architecture and Design call for applicants with a foreign degree opened on 1 October 2025).
For applicants with a foreign degree, the Admissions Office says the English certificate is not needed to submit the application, while the A.Y. 2026/27 Teaching Regulations and the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction Engineering say it is required at the time of application; it is not confirmed which timing applies.
Official sources differ on Italian: Polimi's foreign-qualification page says Italian is not an entry requirement and must be proven before graduating, while the programme's A.Y. 2026/27 Teaching Regulations say knowledge of Italian is a prerequisite for enrolment (holders of at least a B1 certificate are exempt, and free 40-hour Polimi Italian courses are offered). Applicants should confirm this with the School.
The 150-point scale (minimum 100 points) is published for applicants with an Italian degree; no separate scale is published for applicants with a foreign degree, who are assessed on the same CV and portfolio.
The list of accepted English certificates is the one published for A.Y. 2027/28; the application fees shown (EUR 50 early bird, EUR 150 afterwards) are the A.Y. 2026/27 amounts.
Polimi's advice on when to submit the Universitaly visa pre-enrolment is published for A.Y. 2026/27 only (by the end of June 2026 for students admitted to the first semester); the advice for 2027/28 is not published yet.
The fees page linked here shows the A.Y. 2026/27 tuition amounts; the 2027/28 amounts are not published yet.
