A.Y. 2026/27 (2027/28 dates not yet published). Non-EU applicants living abroad with a foreign bachelor's degree use the general Engineering calls only: September 2026 intake (1st semester) 1st call 1 October - 1 December 2025 (11.59pm CET, early bird) and 2nd call 13 January - 26 February 2026 (11.59pm CET), outcomes by the end of May 2026; February 2027 intake (2nd semester) general call 18 May - 18 June 2026 (11.59pm CEST), outcomes by the end of July / beginning of August 2026. Separate non-EU quota: 45 of the 120 places in 2026/27. Universitaly visa pre-enrolment: Polimi strongly suggests that students admitted to the 1st semester 2026/27 submit the Universitaly visa application by the end of June 2026 (validated only after graduation, upload of the final degree with proof of authenticity and a valid language certificate); national deadline to file the visa application at the Italian embassy/consulate: 30 November 2026 for A.Y. 2026/27 and 31 October 2027 for A.Y. 2027/28 (Polimi's own 2027/28 dates and a 2nd-semester visa date are not published).
A.Y. 2026/27 (Educational Regulations 2026/27, Section 6). A first-cycle (Bachelor, EQF level 6) degree or comparable qualification is required; final-year students may apply (Italian-degree applicants: final-year students with at least 145 certified ECTS; foreign-degree applicants: the Bachelor must be obtained before enrolment, must give access to EQF level 7 and must contain subjects closely related to the programme). Required background: a solid preparation in mathematics, physics and computer science, basic knowledge of other information-engineering subjects (electronics, automation) and basic knowledge of electromagnetism, signal theory / communication systems and telecommunication networks. An Admission Committee evaluates every application (previous career, degree grade, average of exams, skills relative to the Telecommunications training plan) and may assign 'equalization' courses of 5 CFU each (Fundamentals of Electromagnetic Fields, Fundamentals of Signals and Systems, Fundamentals of Communication Networks) inside the 120 CFU. Polimi bachelor graduates in Computer, Electronic, Automation, Physical, Mathematical, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering are admitted automatically with a CFU-weighted average of at least 21/30 (degree within 3 years) or 22/30 (4 or more years); other Polimi bachelor graduates with at least 24/30; a final average above 28/30 gives admission without equalization courses. Foreign-degree applicants: Polimi's country-specific minimum CGPA applies with no exceptions (e.g. Turkey 3 out of 4, India 70 out of 100, Pakistan and Bangladesh 3.3 out of 4, China 80%, Iran 15.5 out of 20). From A.Y. 2028/29 a new admission model for Master's programmes will apply.
A.Y. 2027/28 (Admissions Office list 'updated for A.Y. 2027/2028'). English is required for admission: for foreign-degree applicants the certificate is not needed to submit the application and does not affect the evaluation, but it is mandatory to obtain the admission letter, merit-based scholarships, the visa and enrolment. Accepted: TOEFL (Polimi code 9795) paper-based at least 547, computer-based at least 210, iBT and TOEFL Home Edition at least 78 for tests taken until 20/01/2026 or at least 4.5 for tests taken from 21/01/2026
TOEIC at least 785 Listening & Reading plus at least 310 Speaking & Writing (720 L&R applied to 2026/27 only)
Cambridge Proficiency grade C, Advanced grade C, First grade B
None: no admission test, no interview and no portfolio for Telecommunication Engineering (A.Y. 2026/27); admission is an evaluation of the academic record by the programme's Admission Committee. The GRE General Test is optional for Engineering applicants (no minimum score, Polimi code 0495) and can only strengthen the application.
Online registration in Polimi Online Services and the online application form (one application per semester, up to two MSc programmes)
University qualification: official copy of the Bachelor degree, or an official provisional certificate, or an enrolment document from the university Registrar confirming the final year and, if possible, the expected graduation date (mandatory)
Academic transcript of the Bachelor degree, original with official stamps and signatures or verifiable by official link/QR code, scanned on both sides (mandatory)
Cumulative GPA statement issued by the university, showing the CGPA and the grading scale with the minimum passing grade (mandatory; the transcript or diploma is enough if it shows this)
Curriculum vitae, maximum 2 pages, in English or Italian (mandatory)
Official translation of the degree certificate and transcript if they are not in Italian, English, French or Spanish
5 belge daha
English language certificate, or a university document confirming an English-taught Bachelor (at least 3 years, at least 75% of courses in English): not needed to submit the application, mandatory for the admission letter, scholarships, visa and enrolment
Non-refundable application fee: EUR 50 early bird (1 October - 1 December) or EUR 150 (from 2 December and for the 2nd semester); applications without the fee are not processed
Optional: GRE General Test score (code 0495, no minimum score), letter of recommendation, motivation letter (max 2 pages per programme), detailed course descriptions (max 4 MB)
Identity document (EEA applicants) or valid residence permit (non-EEA residents in Italy), only when applying in the additional call reserved to them

No application dates for A.Y. 2027/28 are published yet (checked 27 September 2026); the deadlines, places, academic requirements, documents and test information shown are for A.Y. 2026/27 and will change when Polimi publishes the 2027/28 calendar. The English certificate list is the one Polimi has already published for A.Y. 2027/28.
Polimi's advice to submit the Universitaly visa application by the end of June 2026 applies to students admitted to the first semester of A.Y. 2026/27; no Polimi visa date was found for second-semester (February 2027) admissions or for A.Y. 2027/28. The national deadline for 2027/28 visa applications (31 October 2027) comes from Universitaly.
The 2026/27 programme regulations say the programme is offered in English and also that most of the courses are offered in English; Polimi's programme catalogue lists English as the teaching language.
The documents shown are those for applicants with a foreign bachelor degree; applicants with an Italian degree apply through Polimi Online Services with their Italian career data.
The minimum CGPA examples by country (Turkey 3/4, India 70/100, Pakistan and Bangladesh 3.3/4, China 80%, Iran 15.5/20) come from Polimi's foreign-qualification requirements page; other countries have different minimums.
The Polimi programme page says its information refers to A.Y. 2025/26; the programme-specific rules shown come from the 2026/27 programme regulations.
