Kampüs

NOI Techpark Bozen-Bolzano (the university's technology-park campus, Bruno-Buozzi-Straße 1 / via Bruno Buozzi 1, 39100 Bozen-Bolzano), Faculty of Engineering. This is the same campus as the Bachelor in Computer Science and the Master in Computing for Data Science, physically separate from the main Universitätsplatz/piazza Università campus in the city centre where the Advisory Service sits.

Derece Sınıfı

LM-18

Kabul Tipi

Restricted access (numero programmato) with a merit-based ranking list, decided by documentary evaluation of the applicant's study career — NOT by a written entrance exam. There is no TOLC, no CENT-S, no SAT, no aptitude test and no portfolio. Selection is a points-based assessment (maximum 20 points) of degree grade average, the Webometrics ranking of the awarding university, curricular ECTS in computer science/mathematics, and an optional CV. A CONDITIONAL interview mechanism exists as a secondary gate: applicants below the 24/30 grade-average threshold are routed first to a curriculum vitae evaluation and, if that is unsatisfactory, to an online interview in English. Separate ranking lists are drawn up for (a) EU citizens and citizens given parity of treatment and (b) non-EU citizens living abroad. English B2 is an eliminatory prerequisite that scores zero points.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

Fully English. This is a SINGLE-LANGUAGE programme, not one of unibz's trilingual degrees: the admission document states flatly 'The official teaching language is English' and the brochure 'At a glance' box says 'Courses will be taught in English'. Every course in the published study plan (Software Design and Implementation, Agile Software Development, Human Computer Interaction, Verification and Reliability, Advances in SE and Communication, Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems, Intelligent Tools for Software Evolution, Research Methods, Software and Systems Security, the catalogue alternatives, Internship and Thesis) is delivered in English. There is NO Italian or German course requirement in the current curriculum and no compulsory 'Italian/German for Computer Scientists' course of the kind that exists in the trilingual Bachelor in Computer Science. Historical nuance: students enrolled in 2021/22 had to attend A1.1 German AND Italian courses, and the 2022/23 cohort had to prove A1 CEFR in German and/or Italian or attend Language Centre courses; from the 2023/24 cohort onward no such obligation exists. Italian/German remain available free of charge at the Language Centre as an option, not a requirement.

AB / AEA adayları

Three sessions for EU citizens and citizens given parity of treatment (unibz publishes DD/MM/YYYY; ISO normalised below). EARLY BIRD APPLICATION: 02/03 - 28/04/2026 by noon local time = 2 Mart 2026 to 28 Nisan 2026. LATE APPLICATION (EU only): 28/05 - 08/07/2026 by noon local time = 28 Mayıs 2026 to 8 Temmuz 2026. ADDITIONAL APPLICATION SESSION (EU only, opened by the Faculty in August/September if places remain): 18/08 - 04/09/2026 by noon local time = 18 Ağustos 2026 to 4 Eylül 2026. The Master in Software Engineering IS listed as open for this Additional Session for 2026/27, which is consistent with the EU quota being far from filled (9 + 3 = 12 admitted against 30 EU places). EU applicants may apply for more than one study programme, and an applicant excluded in the first session may apply again in the second. All deadlines are 'by noon local time' — a 12:00 CET cut-off, not end of day.

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

ONE window only for non-EU citizens living outside Italy: the EARLY BIRD APPLICATION, 02/03 - 28/04/2026 by noon local time = 2 Mart 2026 to 28 Nisan 2026. The admission document states: 'Only one application period is offered. After the deadline it is not possible to apply anymore.' Non-EU applicants living abroad are NOT eligible for the Late Application or the Additional Application Session, pay a non-refundable €50 application fee, are ranked on a separate list against a separate 30-place quota, and must additionally pre-enrol on the Universitaly portal (one programme only) to obtain the study visa. For this programme the single non-EU window is the binding constraint that matters most: it closed on 28 Nisan 2026 and, as of the verification date (29 Ağustos 2026), no further non-EU intake for 2026/27 exists.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

One of two routes. ROUTE A — a bachelor degree in Computer Science (class L-31) or Information Engineering (class L-08), or an equivalent qualification under previous Italian regulations, or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad; the admission document names as examples Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics and Information Engineering. ROUTE B — a bachelor's degree in ANY discipline together with curricular requirements obtained through bachelor's degrees, master's degrees or single subject courses: at least 12 ECTS in INFO-01/A (ex INF/01) Computer Science or IINF-05/A (ex ING-INF/05) Information Engineering; at least 6 ECTS in MATH-01/A (ex MAT/01) Mathematical Logic, MATH-03/A (ex MAT/05) Mathematical Analysis or MATH-05/A (ex MAT/08) Numerical Analysis; and at least a further 12 ECTS in the sectors above — 30 ECTS in total. The document gives both the post-2024-reform SSD codes and their legacy equivalents. For candidates with a qualification obtained abroad, 'the verification of the curricular requirements is based on the specific contents of the educational activities' — i.e. course content, not the degree title, decides, which is what makes Route B workable for non-Italian degrees. GRADE THRESHOLD: candidates must have an average mark of at least 24/30; those below it are not automatically rejected but must pass a CV evaluation and, failing that, an online interview. At enrolment a foreign degree must be shown to carry at least 180 ECTS and to give access to a master programme. National rule: simultaneous enrolment in a maximum of 2 programmes is allowed, provided they are not in the same class (e.g. not LM-18/LM-18) and differ in at least 2/3 of course contents. unibz provides an 'unofficial assessment tool' on the programme page for self-checking eligibility.

Dil yeterliliği

Minimal and single-language: English at B2 (CEFR) to gain admission, and nothing else. The admission document states 'The official teaching language is English. Therefore, the following language requirements apply, otherwise you will be excluded from the admission procedure: Entry level (to gain admission) English: B2.' The requirement is ELIMINATORY — failing it means exclusion from the admission procedure, not a lower rank — but it carries no points in the ranking. No Italian, no German, and no third language is required at any stage: not for admission, not to sit examinations, and not to graduate. Proof is uploaded in the application portal under 'upload language certificates' and/or 'enrol for language exams' after creating an application. A final certificate awarded by an Italian public institution requires a self-declaration; one awarded by a foreign public institution requires an uploaded scanned copy of the original. Free Language Centre courses in German and Italian remain available to enrolled students as an optional benefit. Empirical severity check: in the 2026/27 Late session exactly one applicant was excluded for not meeting the language requirement, and the Early Bird lists record no language-based exclusion block at all — a striking contrast with unibz's trilingual programmes.

Sınav / değerlendirme

NO written entrance examination of any kind — no unibz aptitude test, no TOLC-I, no CENT-S, no SAT, no GRE/GMAT. Admission is decided on documents. The only examination-type events connected to admission are: (1) an ONLINE INTERVIEW IN ENGLISH, but only as a fallback for candidates below the 24/30 average whose CV evaluation was unsatisfactory (dates: Early Bird 21 - 22/05/2026; Late 28 - 29/07/2026; Additional Session 17/09/2026); and (2) unibz Language Centre English exams, only for applicants who choose that route to prove B2 — Early Bird 16/03/2026 (registration 02 - 09/03/2026) and 16 - 17 and 20 - 21/04/2026 (registration 24/03 - 08/04/2026); Late 22 - 26/06/2026 (registration 28/05 - 15/06/2026). Note that NO unibz language exam session is offered for the Additional Application Session, so applicants in that window must hold an external certificate (e.g. LanguageCert, TOEFL, IELTS). A non-selective Mathematics pre-course runs 21/09 - 09/10/2026 for enrolled students; it is preparatory, not an admission test.

Hazırlanacak belgeler

  • AT APPLICATION (online via the Application Portal, https://aws.unibz.it/exup/): a valid ID card or passport, front and back — 'if your document is invalid, incomplete or unreadable, you will be excluded from the admission procedure'; the completed online form; the MANDATORY structured Excel 'study career' file downloaded from the portal (along with a PDF example of a filled-in file), with BOTH worksheets completed — tab 'Admission title' and tab 'Other university courses' — and uploaded as an Excel file; for applicants who graduated in Italy, self-declaration of the exams passed, otherwise exclusion; for applicants who graduated abroad, upload of the academic transcript, otherwise exclusion; an optional Curriculum Vitae as a PDF under 'Curriculum vitae' (worth up to 4 points); English language proof under 'upload language certificates' and/or registration under 'enrol for language exams'; the diploma of the qualification if already obtained abroad (if not yet held, it is uploaded at enrolment); for non-EU citizens resident in Italy claiming parity of treatment, a copy of the valid permit to stay plus a renewal request if expired. Once submitted, the application CANNOT be modified, and forms filled in but not correctly sent are disregarded. 'Mendacious declarations will be criminally prosecuted and will result in the automatic exclusion from the ranking list.' The Admission Committee evaluates ONLY documents uploaded by the application deadline. AT ENROLMENT, holders of a foreign university degree must upload: the bachelor degree diploma; an official translation of the degree into Italian (not necessary if issued in German or English); and the Diploma Supplement, which must indicate that at least 180 ECTS were achieved and that the qualification gives access to a master programme — plus the ARDI and/or CIMEA statements described under credential_recognition. Students transferring from another Italian university must submit a copy of the transfer application to the Student Office at the start of the academic year. Non-EU students must hand in a copy of the residence permit to the Student Office once obtained.

  • Başvuru çağrısı
  • Data year: all figures are for academic year 2026/27; the admission-information PDF carries 'Latest update: 25.08.2026' and the express caveat 'Subject to change.' Verified 29 Ağustos 2026. TIMING STATUS AT VERIFICATION: the Early Bird and Late sessions have CLOSED and their ranking lists are published; only the Additional Application Session (18/08 - 04/09/2026, EU citizens only) is still open, and the Master in Software Engineering is listed as accepting applications in it. The non-EU window for 2026/27 closed on 28 Nisan 2026 and cannot be reopened. (1) SCORING GAP IN THE OFFICIAL TEXT: the curricular-ECTS scale reads '1 point for 41-80 ECTS' and '0 points for less than 40 ECTS', leaving exactly 40 ECTS unassigned. This is an error or ambiguity in the source document, not in this record; a candidate with exactly 40 ECTS should ask the Faculty. (2) SSD CODE INCONSISTENCY WITHIN THE SAME DOCUMENT: the entry-requirements section uses the post-2024-reform codes (INFO-01/A, IINF-05/A, MATH-01/A, MATH-03/A, MATH-05/A) with legacy equivalents in brackets, while the admission-procedure scoring section uses only the OLD codes (INF/01, ING-INF/05, MAT/01, MAT/05, MAT/08). They refer to the same sectors; the discrepancy is editorial. (3) STALE DATE IN THE RANKING LISTS: both the Early Bird and Late ranking-list PDFs contain a paragraph stating late enrolment 'by 12 December 2025' while every other passage in the same documents, and the admission-information PDF, says 11 December 2026. The 2025 date is a copy-paste leftover from the previous academic year; 11 December 2026 is the operative deadline. (4) PLACES PRESENTATION: the brochure's '30 EU + 30 non-EU' and the admission PDF's split of the EU quota into 20 Early Bird + 10 Late reconcile (20+10=30); the PDF split is authoritative for per-session planning. (5) EXIT LANGUAGE LEVEL: the finding that there is NO graduation language requirement rests on two mutually supporting sources — the admission PDF's Language requirements section lists only an entry level, in structural contrast to the trilingual programmes' PDFs which carry an explicit 'Exit level (to graduate)' subsection, and the unibz study guide records language obligations only for the 2021/22 and 2022/23 cohorts of this degree and none from 2023/24 onward. It is a well-supported conclusion rather than a directly quoted 'there is no exit requirement' statement. (6) SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNTS are not confirmed for 2026/27 — the €1,680-€6,960 range and any merit-average threshold come from secondary summaries, not from a page verified for this programme; the provincial call sets amounts annually. (7) No separate call/manifesto document was found in English; a Rector's decree may exist only in the Italian albo. (8) ADDITIONAL SESSION QUOTA: the additional-session page confirms the programme is open but does not publish the number of remaining places; the residual EU capacity is inferable as up to 18 (30 EU places minus 12 admitted) but is not officially stated. (9) TURKISH-APPLICANT RELEVANCE: Türkiye is a Lisbon Convention signatory, so case (b) recognition applies (ARDI Statement of Correspondence + CIMEA Statement of Verification); this classification is inferred from the convention's membership, not stated by unibz for this programme. (10) The Webometrics bonus depends on the applicant's home university position in a ranking that is republished twice yearly; unibz does not state which edition/date of the ranking is used, which materially affects candidates near a band boundary. (11) The programme's renaming history (from 'Master in Software Engineering for Information Systems', with students enrolled before 2023/24 on the old programme) means older third-party pages, forum posts and course lists may describe a different curriculum; the brochure itself still publishes a legacy 'enroled form 2024' study plan alongside the current one.

  • Call for applications link note: No separate call for applications / manifesto degli studi / bando document is published in English for this programme. The role of the official call is played by the programme's admission-information document (https://www.unibz.it/assets/CoursesPDF/master-in-software-engineering_admission-information_en_GB.pdf) together with the signed ranking-list decrees, which restate the admission criteria in full, carry the Admission Committee signatures (President Prof. Andrea Alexander Janes; members Prof. Davide Lanti, Prof. Eduardo Martins Guerra, Prof. Usman Rafiq, Prof. Xiaozhou Li) and the 60-day appeal notice to the Bozen-Bolzano Administrative Court. [uncertain] — a Rector's decree formally opening the 2026/27 admission procedure may exist in the Italian-language albo/registry but was not located in English.
  • Tuition and fees link note: Total tuition fees are €1,200 per year, in two instalments: 1st instalment €600, which includes the €16 revenue stamp (marca da bollo) and is the payment that secures the place after admission; 2nd instalment €600, to be paid by March of the following year. Over the two-year programme that is roughly €2,400. Delayed payment of the second instalment incurs a fine; unpaid fees block exam-taking and any transfer to another university or study programme. No refund if you drop out, interrupt your studies or are excluded. Exemptions: students with a disability recognised under article 3, paragraph 1 of Law no. 104/1992 or with a disability of 66% or more (health-authority certificate to be handed in at the start of the academic year), and foreign students granted a scholarship from the Italian government. Students awarded a scholarship by the Autonomous Province of Bozen-Bolzano are entitled to a refund of the tuition fees. Fees detail is published inside the admission-information PDF (https://www.unibz.it/assets/CoursesPDF/master-in-software-engineering_admission-information_en_GB.pdf) and on the general fees page https://guide.unibz.it/en/study-career/general-information/fees/
