Recommended background for applicants with a non-Italian qualification (2026/27 course-specific requirements): Industrial engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Biomedical, Chemical and Food, Materials, Automotive, Industrial Engineering and Management, Electrical and Energy Engineering); syllabus required. A positive evaluation is valid only for the academic year applied for.
English: English B2 or above is required. In the 2026/2027 course-specific requirements PDF, the English-taught Energy and Nuclear Engineering programme states a minimum requirement of IELTS 5.5.
Accepted Certificates: The official PoliTo B2 certificate table includes IELTS Academic/General Training 5.5, Pearson PTE Academic 59, TOEFL iBT (the table shows 72 for tests obtained before 21/01/2026), TOEIC (Listening 400, Reading 385, Speaking 160, Writing 150), and Cambridge B2/C1/C2 certificates accepted under the published minimum conditions.
Italian: Italian is not required for the English programme entry
Standard Programme: No programme-specific written or oral entrance exam was found for the standard Energy and Nuclear Engineering admission route. Admission is based on evaluation of curricular requirements, academic performance, and language requirements.; Special Tracks: HySET has separate admission requirements and procedures according to the programme academic regulations. DENSYS 2.0 is listed in the provisional curriculum as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master track.
Test score or threshold: There is no standard entrance-test score for the programme. Key thresholds found in official sources are: applicants from other Italian universities need a weighted average grade of at least 24/30; applicants from Politecnico di Torino are assessed under programme rules tied to time-to-degree and, when applicable, weighted average grade (21/30 or 24/30); the programme academic regulations currently linked from the programme page also state the 40-credit and 60-credit SSD minimums for standard tracks.
