English at CEFR B2 or higher is mandatory (Politecnico's B2 table of 23/09/2019, updated Jan 2026: IELTS Academic/General 5.5; Pearson PTE Academic 59; TOEFL iBT 72 if taken before 21/01/2026, total band 4 if taken after 21/01/2026; TOEIC Listening 400 + Reading 385 + Speaking 160 + Writing 150; Cambridge B1 Preliminary, B2 First, BEC Vantage, C1 Advanced, BEC Higher, C2 Proficiency with a minimum score of 160; older Cambridge results only with Statement of Results; paper, computer and online exams accepted). The 2026/27 course-specific requirements table gives 'IELTS 5.5' as the minimum for the English-language row. For TOEFL/TOEIC use institution code C285; for Cambridge share results with Politecnico and give the Candidate ID. Exemptions (non-Italian page): IB Diploma fully in English; European School diploma with English as L1; qualifications recognised as equivalent awarded in the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand; English-medium school/university path in the listed countries (Africa/Asia/Caribbean/Europe/Pacific lists; Turkey is not among the listed countries), proven by an official statement that the medium of instruction is English. English track: English B2 only, NO Italian certificate needed (Italian B2 is required only for the Italian-taught row 'Pianificazione Urbanistica e Territoriale'). Timing: for non-Italian-qualification applicants the certificate (or a valid exemption) is a compulsory upload with the application; for Italian-qualification applicants it can be submitted later, at the latest 22 Feb 2027 (single-course route for the language gap; enrolment deadline in the 1st semester 2 Nov 2026).

none as a separate exam. Admission is by evaluation of curriculum: 'Portfolio/Summary' and 'Syllabus' are both required in the 2026/27 course-specific table for the English track, and the deadlines page lists 'evaluation of the portfolio/summary' (results 9 Sep 2026 for 1st semester and 28 Jan 2027 for 2nd semester, Italian-qualification route). The 2025/26 English regulations mentioned a 'mandatory interview' for candidates from other universities; the 2026/27 Italian regulation and the 2026/27 deadlines page speak only of portfolio/summary merit evaluation, so an interview is not expected for 2026/27 .

  • All dates and requirements shown are for A.Y. 2026/27; the A.Y. 2027/28 admission calls are not published yet. All A.Y. 2026/27 application rounds open to non-EU applicants living abroad have closed, and the next round (A.Y. 2027/28) has not been announced.
  • The A.Y. 2025/26 English translation of the programme regulations mentions a mandatory interview for candidates from other universities. The A.Y. 2026/27 regulations (Italian text) and the 2026/27 deadlines page describe only an evaluation of the grade average and a portfolio or summary, so no interview is expected for 2026/27; an English translation of the 2026/27 regulations is not linked from the programme pages.
  • The academic requirements shown follow the A.Y. 2026/27 programme regulations in Italian; the English programme page still links the A.Y. 2025/26 English translation.
  • Only the 'Planning for the Global Urban Agenda' track is taught in English; the 'Urban and Regional Planning for ecological transition' track is taught in Italian. Applicants to the English track with a non-Italian qualification must upload both a syllabus and a portfolio or summary of previous work.
  • On Universitaly the programme may not be listed under its English name; PoliTo's confirmation of eligibility letter and course catalogue confirm the language of the programme.
