restricted access Admission test type: TIL-A (Test in Laib - Architettura), mandatory for all applicants. SAT is not valid for Architecture. Places A.Y. 2026/27: 500 for Architettura-Architecture (class L-17, Italian / English): 415 for EU and Equivalent applicants (of which up to 40 in the English-taught programme) and 85 reserved for non-EU applicants residing abroad and requiring a visa. Two separate ranking lists (EU/Equivalent and non-EU visa applicants) based on the TIL-A score; EU/Equivalent applicants who chose the English-taught programme are offered it by rank and, once it is full, the Italian-taught programme. Applicant route: EU applicants and Equivalent applicants (includes non-EU nationals legally residing in Italy); non-EU applicants residing abroad and requiring a visa; applicants with an Italian or a non-Italian qualification. Admission call round: one dedicated Architecture call for A.Y. 2026/27 (Rector's decree no. 575/2026, published June 2026 after Ministerial Decree no. 706 of 4 June 2026), single TIL-A window in July. The 2027/28 call is not published yet. Application platform: Apply@polito for test registration, language-skills upload and place reservation/enrolment; UNIVERSITALY pre-enrolment is additionally required for non-EU applicants residing abroad who need a study visa.

  • Official level type: Bachelor's degree programme (Laurea / 1st cycle)
  • Qualification: Secondary school diploma or another foreign upper-secondary qualification that gives access to university studies.
  • Schooling Length: Applicants with a non-Italian qualification must normally have completed at least 12 years of schooling.

A.Y. 2026/27 (Architecture call, Annex A). English-taught track: English B2 (CEFR) or above; Italian-taught track: Italian B2 or above (applicants with a non-Italian qualification). Accepted English B2 certificates (PoliTo table adopted 23/09/2019, updated 22/12/2022; PDF revised January 2026): IELTS Academic or General Training 5.5; Pearson PTE Academic 59; TOEFL iBT 72 if obtained before 21/01/2026 or total 4 if obtained after 21/01/2026; TOEIC Listening 400, Reading 385, Speaking 160, Writing 150; Cambridge English score 160 (B1 Preliminary, B2 First, B2 Business Vantage, C1 Advanced, C1 Business Higher, C2 Proficiency), with older-scale equivalents. For TOEFL/TOEIC indicate code C285; for Cambridge share the results with Politecnico and give the Candidate ID. English exemptions (official medium-of-instruction statement uploaded instead): IB Diploma only if the entire path was taught in English (except foreign languages); European Schools diploma with English as first language (L1); qualifications from the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand, wherever the school/university is located; English-medium qualifications from the countries listed in Annex A (e.g. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Kenya, Malta, Cyprus). Italian-track exemptions: Italian citizens residing in Italy, San Marino diplomas, at least one school year taught in Italian, an Italian qualification, Annex 2 qualifications, or an Italian course certificate with final exam. Refugees in Italy need no certificate for admission but must have it before graduation. Timing: certificate details entered in the LANGUAGE SKILLS section of Apply@polito by Wednesday 15 July 2026 at 2:00 p.m. for all applicants with a non-Italian qualification (EU, Equivalent and non-EU visa applicants alike), or by 30 September 2026 for applicants with an Italian qualification; missing the deadline means exclusion from enrolment. TIL-A (Test in Laib - Architettura), A.Y. 2026/27: mandatory for all applicants; SAT not valid for Architecture. In person only, in the Politecnico di Torino computer laboratories in Turin, on Tuesday 21 July or Wednesday 22 July 2026 (one date, cannot be changed); registration on Apply@polito 12 June - 15 July 2026 (2:00 p.m.), fee EUR 50 (non-refundable); test in English or Italian, chosen at registration. 50 multiple-choice questions in 100 minutes (20 minutes per section): 10 reading comprehension, 10 prior school knowledge (history incl. art history, general knowledge), 10 logical reasoning, 10 drawing and representation, 10 physics and mathematics; +1 correct, 0 blank, -0.25 wrong, maximum 50 (converted to hundredths). Places are assigned by ranking on the TIL-A score (separate lists for EU/Equivalent and non-EU visa applicants); the call sets no fixed minimum score, and applicants who answer no question are not ranked. Less than 3/10 in the physics and mathematics section gives additional learning obligations (OFA). The TIL-A score is valid only for enrolment in A.Y. 2026/27; syllabus in Annex A of Ministerial Decree no. 706 of 4 June 2026.

  • Document translation/authentication: Documents must be issued on official letterheaded paper, stamped and signed by the issuing institution. Documents in Italian, English, French, or Spanish are accepted; if documents are in another language, the original and an official English or Italian translation must be merged into one file. PoliTO defines an official translation as one bearing the stamp and original signature of an officially recognized translator. Italian translations must be certified by the Italian Embassy in the country of issue or sworn by the translator in an Italian court. For enrolment, PoliTO also requires a Declaration of Value of the diploma or a CIMEA/ENIC-NARIC comparability document, and it recommends CIMEA verification to speed up evaluation.
