PoliTo validates it only if the application is ELIGIBLE and the Bachelor's degree has been obtained and uploaded. Qualification: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree (EQF level 6) or an equivalent qualification giving access to second-cycle studies.
Non Italian General Rule: For a non-Italian qualification, PoliTo requires an academic qualification awarded by an accredited or recognized foreign university. Applicants who have not yet completed a five- or six-year university programme must still meet the minimum of 15 years of total education, with at least 3 years at university level and at least 180 ECTS credits or equivalent.
English Track: For the English-taught programme row 'Materials Engineering for Industry 4.0', PoliTo requires English level B2 or higher; the A.Y. 2026/2027 course-specific requirements sheet gives IELTS 5.5 as the reference minimum score.
Bilingual Italian Track: For the Italian-titled bilingual row 'Ingegneria dei materiali per l'industria 4.0', PoliTo requires Italian B2 and IELTS 5.5.
Accepted Certificates: Accepted English certificates are the ones published by the PoliTo Language Centre. The current official B2 table includes IELTS Academic and General Training 5.5, Pearson PTE Academic 59, TOEFL iBT 72 if obtained before 21 January 2026 or Total 4 if obtained after 21 January 2026, TOEIC Listening 400 / Reading 385 / Speaking 160 / Writing 150, and Cambridge certificates with Cambridge English Scale 160.
Standard Route: No written entrance exam is published for the standard non-Italian-qualification route; admission is based on document evaluation of curricular requirements, academic performance, and language requirements.
Italian Qualification Exception: The latest programme regulations publicly linked from the current programme page state that some applicants from Politecnico di Torino or other Italian universities who do not meet the direct-admission grade thresholds may take a merit-based evaluation.
