• Official level type: Master's degree programme
• Base Requirement: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree (EQF level 6) or an equivalent academic qualification awarded by an accredited foreign university and giving access to second-cycle studies.
• Equivalent Qualification Rule: Applicants enrolled in a foreign 5- or 6-year single-cycle degree who have not graduated yet may apply if they have at least 15 years of global schooling, including at least 3 years at university level, and at least 180 ECTS or equivalent.

A.Y. 2026/27. English pathway (Architecture for Heritage, taught entirely in English): English B2 or higher; the A.Y. 2026/2027 course-specific requirements give IELTS 5.5 as the minimum. Italian pathway (Architettura per il Patrimonio, partially in Italian and partially in English): Italian B2 and IELTS 5.5. Accepted English B2 certificates (PoliTo table adopted 23/09/2019, updated 22/12/2022; PDF revised January 2026): IELTS Academic or General Training 5.5; Pearson PTE Academic 59; TOEFL iBT 72 if taken before 21/01/2026, 'Total 4' if taken after 21/01/2026; TOEIC Listening 400, Reading 385, Speaking 160, Writing 150; Cambridge English Scale 160 for B1 Preliminary, B2 First, B2 Business Vantage, C1 Advanced, C1 Business Higher and C2 Proficiency (including for Schools versions); older Cambridge certificates per the legacy thresholds in the table; paper, computer and online exams accepted. TOEFL/TOEIC: institution code C285; Cambridge: share the results with PoliTo and give the Candidate ID. Exemptions (upload an official medium-of-instruction statement instead): IB Diploma only if the entire learning path was in English; European Schools diploma with English as L1; qualifications awarded by the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand; English-taught qualifications from a school/university based in one of the listed countries (e.g. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Kenya, Malta, Cyprus, Singapore). Timing: applicants with a non-Italian qualification upload the certificate with the Apply@polito application (a PENDING status is verified during the evaluation); applicants with an Italian qualification may apply without it, but B2 (IELTS 5.5) is an entry requirement - without it they can only enrol in first-semester single courses and must present the certificate and enrol by 22 February 2027.
