Kabul Tipi

Open access with a mandatory, non-selective entrance test to verify knowledge. The course catalogue lists the access procedure as 'Entrance test to verify knowledge' (Italian: 'Prova in ingresso per la verifica delle conoscenze'). The A.Y. 2026-2027 call for applications (Rector's Decree No. 1327/2026, issued 24 June 2026) sets no numerus clausus, no quota of places and no merit ranking: admission is obtained by taking the CEnT-S or the SAT, paying the EUR 10.00 access fee on Infostud (course code 33482) and paying the enrolment fees by the published deadlines. A test score below the published threshold does not exclude the applicant; it assigns an OFA (Further Required Course) in Mathematics to be cleared during the first year. Non-EU citizens residing abroad who need a study visa must additionally pass the mandatory online pre-selection on the QS MoveIn platform in order to obtain the compulsory letter of pre-acceptance.

Başvuru takvimi

AB / AEA adayları

A.Y. 2026-2027, for Italian citizens, citizens of other EU countries (and Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, San Marino, Vatican City) and non-EU citizens holding a valid Italian residence permit: take the CEnT-S between November 2025 and 29 October 2026, or the SAT between 1 January 2023 and 29 October 2026; register on Infostud and pay the EUR 10.00 access fee from 2 July 2026 to 29 October 2026; if applying with the SAT, send the SAT Score Report to the Faculty Student Affairs Office by 29 October 2026; pay the first instalment of the university enrolment fees from 1 September 2026 and by Thursday 5 November 2026. The call warns that both actions must be completed by 29 October 2026 - taking the test without paying the EUR 10.00 fee by that date, or paying the fee without taking the test by that date, blocks enrolment. The MoveIn pre-selection is optional for these applicants; where used, the 2026/2027 pre-selection window ran from 22 December 2025 to 31 July 2026.

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

A.Y. 2026-2027, for non-EU citizens residing abroad who require a student visa (and Chinese applicants under the Marco Polo programme): the binding early step is the mandatory pre-selection on the QS MoveIn platform, open from 22 December 2025 and closed on 15 May 2026 - considerably earlier than the general calendar. A EUR 30.00 application fee applies per application (maximum 2 applications per candidate per academic year, no waivers). Successful candidates must accept the offer on the platform and download the compulsory letter of pre-acceptance, then complete and submit the online pre-enrolment application for the 'University enrolment' study visa on the Universitaly platform by 30 June 2026. The remaining steps share the general deadlines: CEnT-S or SAT and the EUR 10.00 Infostud fee by 29 October 2026 (SAT scores to Sapienza via College Board code 9038 by the same date), and payment of the first instalment of enrolment fees from 1 September 2026 to 5 November 2026. Sapienza notes that between 15 May and the end of June 2026 non-EU candidates could apply only for Italian-taught programmes. Note that as of the research date (2 September 2026) both the 15 May 2026 pre-selection deadline and the 30 June 2026 Universitaly deadline for A.Y. 2026-2027 have already passed.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

Upper secondary school diploma obtained, or to be obtained, in 2026. Holders of a qualification from a foreign secondary education system must meet Sapienza's country-specific requirements: the diploma must have been awarded after at least 12 years of schooling and must grant access to first-level university degrees in the country of issue. Where the school system is shorter, 'compensation years' apply: with an 11-year system, an academic transcript proving successful completion of the first year of university; with a 10-year system, the first two years. A 1- or 2-year post-secondary qualification in a related subject, or a Foundation Year certificate (compensating one missing year) issued by an institution accredited by the relevant Ministry, is also accepted. Sapienza's official Admission requirements 2026/2027 document (used for the MoveIn pre-selection) states for this programme: 'To be eligible for this Bachelor's degree, it is mandatory to have a 12-year school Diploma or 11 years and at least 1 year of technical university enrolment', and sets a MINIMUM GPA of 80/100. That GPA threshold is published as a pre-selection eligibility criterion — pre-selection is mandatory for non-EU visa applicants and optional for EU/EU-equivalent applicants. No specific school-subject prerequisites are imposed beyond the CEnT-S/SAT entrance test; insufficient mathematics knowledge is handled through the OFA mechanism rather than refusal of admission.

Dil yeterliliği
  • English at CEFR level B2 or higher is mandatory. Annex 5 of the 2026-2027 call lists the accepted certificates: IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5
  • TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 80
  • Cambridge English B2 (First) or higher
Sınav / değerlendirme

Mandatory entrance test, in one of two accepted forms. (1) CEnT-S (CISIA English Test - Sciences), including the remote CEnT@CASA mode: 55 multiple-choice questions across 5 sections - Mathematics 15 (30 min), Reasoning on texts and data 15 (30 min), Biology 10 (20 min), Chemistry 10 (20 min), Physics 5 (10 min); all sections must be completed for this programme; the test may be taken only once per CISIA macro-period; valid if taken from November 2025 up to 29 October 2026. (2) SAT General Test (College Board), taken at any SAT centre worldwide, valid if taken from 1 January 2023 up to 29 October 2026; scores must be sent to Sapienza through the College Board using Higher Education Institution code 9038 and must reach the university by 29 October 2026, and the SAT Score Report must also be emailed to segrstudenti.ingegneria@uniroma1.it by 29 October 2026. If the SAT is taken several times from 1 January 2023 onwards, the highest score sent to Sapienza is used. The English TOLC test is explicitly no longer accepted. The test is not selective but determines OFA status: an OFA in Mathematics is assigned to applicants scoring below 18 on the normalised CEnT-S score, or below 800/1600 on the SAT. The OFA is cleared by passing the OFA resit test or by passing the Analysis I and II exam, and must be cleared within the first year; otherwise the student repeats the first year and cannot sit exams beyond the first year from A.Y. 2027-2028. The Faculty runs mathematics support courses in English. Applicants with a disability recognised under Article 3(1) or 3(3) of Law No. 104/1992, or holding a disability certificate, are exempt from taking the CEnT-S or the SAT.

For fees: the 2026 ISEE for university study entitlement, for applicants with tax residence in Italy only, to be requested after 15 January 2026 and at least 30 days before the fee deadline; the EUR 16.00 stamp duty is payable in all cases. Holders of a foreign secondary qualification must send the scanned document set to studentistranieri@uniroma1.it with the subject line 'Ready for enrolment + course code and course title + student registration number + student's surname and first name'. No Italian language certificate is required for this English-taught programme.

  • All admission requirements and dates shown are for A.Y. 2026/2027 and come from the complete 2026-2027 call for applications (Rector's Decree No. 1327/2026, dated 24 June 2026). The A.Y. 2027/2028 call and pre-selection dates are not published yet.
  • The course catalogue pages still carry the banner 'I contenuti del catalogo per l'a.a. 2026-2027 sono in corso di aggiornamento' (catalogue contents for A.Y. 2026-2027 are being updated), so descriptive catalogue content may lag; the admission information shown here comes from the 2026-2027 call for applications and is not affected.
  • Scope of the MINIMUM GPA 80/100: it is published in Sapienza's 'Admission requirements 2026/2027' document, which governs the MoveIn pre-selection. Pre-selection is mandatory only for non-EU applicants residing abroad; the call for applications itself does not impose a GPA threshold on EU/EU-equivalent applicants, who can enrol on the basis of the diploma plus CEnT-S/SAT. Whether the 80/100 threshold is also applied to EU applicants who skip pre-selection is not stated on any official page found.
  • The call sets no number of available places, no ranking and no selective cut-off score; the CEnT-S/SAT thresholds only determine OFA assignment. No official page found states a numerus clausus for this programme.
  • Minor internal inconsistency in the official call PDF: section 2.2 refers to Chinese applicants who 'submitted a pre-enrollment application in the "Marco Polo" programme at Sapienza for the 2025-2026 academic year' inside a call governing A.Y. 2026-2027. This is reproduced as published; the Marco Polo pre-enrolment cycle runs a year ahead, so it is likely intentional rather than an error, but it is not clarified in the document.
  • Several A.Y. 2026-2027 deadlines have passed: the non-EU MoveIn pre-selection closed on 15 May 2026, the Universitaly visa pre-enrolment on 30 June 2026 and the optional EU pre-selection on 31 July 2026. The CEnT-S/SAT and EUR 10.00 fee deadline of 29 October 2026 and the enrolment fee window of 1 September - 5 November 2026 are still open as of 29 September 2026.
  • Tuition amounts are not listed here; they are published on the university's Tuition fees and benefits page. The call also links https://www.uniroma1.it/en/content/standard-registration-fee-amounts for applicants with foreign tax residence.
