The eligibility check must be requested by paying the EUR 10.00 Infostud fee FROM 2 JULY 2026 and by ONE of the following chosen dates: 15 September 2026; 15 October 2026; 17 November 2026; 17 December 2026; or 14 January 2027 (this last date is reserved for students who have already graduated from Sapienza or are about to graduate). The personal-knowledge assessment documents must be uploaded to the dedicated Google Form 'by the same deadlines as those set for submitting the application for the assessment of eligibility'. Applicants who have not yet graduated must obtain the degree by 23 January 2027 (Sapienza) or 19 December 2026 (other Italian or international universities). The optional MoveIN pre-selection route for EU/EU-equivalent candidates closed on 31 July 2026 for A.Y. 2026/2027 ('All other candidates (EU or equivalent): deadline set on July 31, 2026'). A.Y. 2026/27 - non-EU citizens residing abroad who need a study visa (and Chinese students in the Marco Polo programme). Step 1: MoveIn online pre-selection to obtain the mandatory pre-acceptance letter, open 22 December 2025 - 15 May 2026 (EUR 30 per application, at most 2 applications per academic year). 15 May 2026 was therefore the real closing date for new visa applicants: between 15 May and the end of June 2026, non-EU candidates could only apply for programmes taught in Italian. Step 2: Universitaly pre-enrolment for the study visa, submitted by 30 June 2026 at 23:59 Italian time, with the pre-acceptance letter uploaded. Step 3: eligibility check requested on Infostud by paying the EUR 10.00 fee (code 33516) from 2 July 2026 and not later than 15 September 2026 - the only date open to visa applicants (the later dates are for EU and Italy-resident applicants); the documents for the personal knowledge assessment are uploaded through the programme's Google Form by the same date. Step 4: enrolment documents emailed to studentistranieri@uniroma1.it, then payment of the first fee instalment. Dates for A.Y. 2027/28 are not published yet.

(b) At least 44 university credits (CFU) in total in the listed sectors, including at least 18 CFU in core subjects (mathematics, physics, computer science, statistics: MAT/02, MAT/03, MAT/05, MAT/06, FIS/01, INF/01, SECS-S/01) and at least 24 CFU, distributed as the applicant chooses, in MAT/08, MAT/09, INF/01, ING-INF/01, ING-INF/02, ING-INF/03, ING-INF/04, ING-INF/05, ING-IND/31, ING-IND/35, SECS-P/06, SECS-P/07, SECS-P/08, SECS-P/10, IUS/01 and IUS/20. (c) English at B2. The course regulations also expect knowledge of fundamental computer science topics: computer architectures, algorithms and data structures, programming languages, databases, computer networks and operating systems. Missing credits can be earned by passing single examinations before enrolment. Applicants who have not yet graduated may apply if they graduate by 23 January 2027 (Sapienza) or 19 December 2026 (other Italian or foreign universities). Minimum grade: the call and the course regulations set no minimum degree grade; the MoveIn pre-selection document for international applicants (the route to the pre-acceptance letter) states a minimum GPA of 75/100 and expects a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Telecommunication Engineering or a related field that covers the subjects of a standard Italian Bachelor's in Computer Science.

A.Y. 2026/27: English at CEFR level B2 is required. Proof of English proficiency is one of the documents uploaded through the programme's Google Form for the personal knowledge assessment, by the same deadline chosen for the eligibility check; applicants coming from other Italian universities may upload an official B2 certificate or a self-certification based on the programme's template. English at B2 is also one of the committee's assessment criteria, next to an interview that may be held remotely. MoveIn pre-selection (Admission requirements 2026/2027): B2 shown by IELTS 5.5 or higher, TOEFL iBT 80 or higher, Cambridge English B2 First or higher, or Trinity College London ISE II or higher; the language certificate is uploaded with the MoveIn application (visa applicants by 15 May 2026). Sapienza's English language requirements sheet (24 February 2026) also lists FCE, IELTS Academic (including the Home-Based test), valid TOEFL iBT (including the Home Edition), CAE, CPE, PTE General Level 3 (B2) or higher and PTE Academic. Exemptions: native speakers of English; holders of an English-taught diploma or degree from an accredited institution in the EU/EEA/Schengen area, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States; holders of an International Baccalaureate, GCSE/GCE or comparable diploma. The requirement is completely waived where English was the primary medium of instruction in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand. No Italian language requirement (the Italian B2 test applies only to programmes taught in Italian).
