Roma (Rome) - Sapienza University of Rome, Faculty of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Statistics (i3S); Department of Computer Science (INFORMATICA). The programme is a joint i3S Faculty initiative combining four departments: Computer Science (DI), Computer, Control and Management Engineering (DIAG), Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications (DIET), and Statistics (DSS). Classes are held at the Castro Laurenziano site in Rome.

Admission requires: (1) requesting the eligibility check by paying the EUR 10.00 fee on Infostud with code 33519, from 2 July 2026 and by one of the dates 15 September, 15 October, 17 November or 17 December 2026, or 14 January 2027 (Sapienza graduates and graduands only; visa applicants only 15 September 2026); (2) meeting the curricular requirements (a three-year degree, at least 90 CFU in the listed subject areas and English at B2 or above); (3) passing the compulsory assessment of adequate personal preparation by a dedicated committee. Enrolment is possible after the email confirming both checks. Non-EU citizens residing abroad who need a study visa must first obtain the mandatory pre-acceptance letter through the MoveIn online pre-selection (visa applicants' deadline 15 May 2026).

No TOLC, no SAT, no compulsory GRE and no competitive written entrance exam (A.Y. 2026/27). Stage 1: eligibility check of the curricular requirements, requested by paying the EUR 10.00 fee on Infostud (code 33519) from 2 July 2026 by the chosen deadline; the outcome is sent by email. Stage 2: compulsory assessment of adequate personal preparation by a committee appointed by the Degree Programme Council. APP-a looks at the Bachelor's final grade and average (especially the marks in Mathematics, Probability and Computer Science) and at the relevance of the previous degree; APP-b checks knowledge of Mathematics, Probability and Computer Science. APP-b counts as satisfied automatically for applicants who obtained, with an average grade above 24/30, at least 12 CFU in MAT/03, MAT/05 and/or MAT/09, 6 CFU in MAT/06 and 6 CFU in INF/01 and/or ING-INF/05; if only one of the three knowledge areas is missing, the applicant takes a test and/or oral interview on that area. For MoveIn pre-selection applicants, those who pass APP-a take an online test on the APP-b topics and then an online interview with the Master's Committee. Applicants without a B2 English certificate or B2 English credits from previous studies must pass an English proficiency interview. No test or interview dates and no numeric pass mark are published; the MoveIn document gives a minimum GPA of 80/100 for pre-selection and says a GRE certificate is strongly recommended and counts positively. Preparation material on the enrol page: the first 5 chapters of 'All of Statistics' (Wasserman, 2004) or 'A First Course in Probability' (Ross, 2019) for probability, and a data-mining homework of the published type for information processing systems.

Self-declaration of the degree obtained, stating degree class and final mark (or grade average if not yet graduated) (eligibility check · candidates coming from Sapienza or other Italian universities (graduates and undergraduates)): Uploaded via the programme Google form https://forms.gle/PkaSvwxwDriDEMf99, with confirmation emailed to datascience@i3s.uniroma1.it by the same deadline as the eligibility application.
List of all examinations taken, with the scientific-disciplinary sectors (SSD) corresponding to the required subjects (eligibility check · candidates coming from Sapienza or other Italian universities): The programme instructs applicants who have no exams in a listed SSD (e.g. MAT/03-MAT/05 or MAT/06) to enter manually the SSD in which the corresponding topics were taken.
Proof of English at CEFR B2 or above (eligibility check / assessment of personal preparation · all applicants except those covered by a waiver): An IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge/Trinity/PTE certificate for international applicants; for Sapienza and other Italian-university applicants, a self-declaration attesting to English at B2 or higher is accepted through the programme Google form.
MoveIn pre-selection dossier (pre-selection (mandatory for non-EU candidates residing abroad who require a visa; optional for EU and EU-equivalent candidates) · non-EU candidates residing abroad requiring a visa; optional for others): Passport; high school and university diploma; transcript of records; language certificate; reference letter (optional); additional supporting documents. Maximum 2 programmes per student per academic year. A GRE certificate is optional but strongly recommended for this programme.
Enrolment dossier for holders of a foreign qualification, merged into a single PDF and emailed to studentistranieri@uniroma1.it (enrolment · holders of a qualification from a non-Italian higher education system): Valid passport (or ID card for EU citizens); 'University enrolment' study visa and, for visa holders, receipts of the residence-permit request (or a valid residence permit card for non-EU citizens living in Italy); the foreign first-cycle degree and transcript of records with official sworn translation into Italian or English (no Italian sworn translation needed if the qualification was originally issued in English). For countries in the ARDI Automatic Recognition Database: ARDI Statement of Correspondence plus a CIMEA Statement of Verification, or legalisation/Apostille. For countries not in ARDI: a CIMEA Statement of Comparability and Statement of Verification, or alternatively a Declaration of Value issued by the Italian Diplomatic Mission with legalisation/Apostille, or a legalised/Apostilled Diploma Supplement.
