The platform campaign 'CNE - student application' opens on 2 November 2026 at 00:00 and closes on 15 February 2027 at 23:59 (Paris time), and the Tor Vergata programme site also gives 15 February 2027 as the deadline; the joint programme's Application Information page instead says 1 November 2026 - 2 February 2027, so applying by 2 February 2027 is the safe choice. The selection committee meets in June (the FAQ says final results are known in May); applicants are told whether they are on the accepted, reserve or refused list, and the waiting list stays open until the end of August. The programme starts with the first semester in Marseille. The 2026/27 campaign is closed.

Selected students start in Marseille and apply for a French student visa (student mobility visa with the possibility of a French residence permit); the joint programme helps selected students with the visa application. For the third semester in Rome, the Tor Vergata practical guide says students whose renewed French residence permit covers their stay in Italy enter Italy without an Italian study visa and must make a declaration of presence at the Questura within 8 working days; enrolment at Tor Vergata is completed in person at the International Students Office. No Universitaly pre-enrolment date is published for this programme.

A.Y. 2027/28 campaign: a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in science or engineering - the joint programme lists Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical, Chemical or Electronic Engineering, Materials Science and similar fields; applicants from other backgrounds (e.g. biomedical engineering) may apply and the Selection Committee checks their eligibility. A GPA of at least 75% of the grading-scale maximum is required. Final-year students may apply with a certificate from their university giving their current status and planned graduation date (the diploma is requested after selection). The programme is a full two-year course; direct entry to the second year is not possible. Tor Vergata lists the access type as 'Open with curriculum evaluation'.

English, certified with the application (by the deadline): the joint programme's Application Information page sets minimum IELTS 6.2 or TOEFL iBT 91, while its FAQ asks for CEFR B2 or a similar test such as IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 91 [uncertain which IELTS band applies; IELTS 6.5 meets both]. Graduates of a university where English is the teaching language submit a certified document from that university confirming their ability to study in English (or other proof of an English-taught programme) instead of a test. No Italian, French or Polish language requirement is stated.

The Selection Committee of the joint programme evaluates the complete application file - degree and GPA (at least 75% of the scale maximum), certified English, CV and motivation letter, two recommendation letters and the mandatory essay on nanoengineering (maximum 4 pages) - and ranks applicants; the same ranking decides admission and the Erasmus Mundus scholarships (main list and reserve list). The committee meets in June (the FAQ says final results in May); applicants are placed on accepted, reserve or refused lists and the waiting list stays open until the end of August. An appeal procedure against the committee's decision exists.
