For the 2026/27 non-EU selection: a bachelor's or higher degree awarded abroad, of at least three years and giving access to master's study in the awarding country, obtained no more than six years before application; an adequate academic background in Physics and Mathematics including at least one introductory quantum mechanics course. The programme's standing admission page additionally specifies at least 27 CFU in Mathematics and at least 75 CFU in Physics, an equivalent/recognized bachelor's degree, and no outstanding educational debt.

Good written and spoken English at CEFR B2 level or higher, including the ability to use scientific English. For the 2026/27 international selection, this must be demonstrated by an accepted test or an exemption document.

The programme page describes an oral interview testing proficiency in the basic subjects required by the MSc. For the 2026/27 non-EU route, the committee scores qualifications out of 100: academic record up to 50 points, relevance of prior education up to 40, reference letter up to 5, and motivation up to 5; it may require an online interview or test. A score of at least 50/100 is suitable.

• • Non-EU public selection: passport personal-data pages; bachelor's degree or enrolment certificate stating the expected graduation date; official translation into Italian or English where necessary; transcript listing examinations, grades, grading range and preferably GPA; official syllabi for all completed academic activities on university letterhead or bearing the university stamp; reference letter, preferably from a university professor
  • Europass-format CV in English
  • English-language certificate or exemption evidence; motivation letter in English (maximum 4,000 characters including spaces); signed summary sheet; and any additional supporting material. EU/equated pre-evaluation additionally lists the final secondary-school diploma, its Declaration of Value or comparability certificate, the bachelor's degree, Declaration of Value or comparability and verification for the bachelor's degree, transcript/Diploma Supplement, official syllabi, motivation letter, recommendation letter and English certificate.
