For the Italian/EU/equated open-access route, applicants need an Italian degree in L-8 Information Engineering or L-9 Industrial Engineering (or an equivalent qualification), or another university qualification of at least three years, including a foreign qualification, recognized as suitable. Minimum curricular requirements are 36 CFU in the listed computer science, mathematics, statistics, chemistry, materials and physics sectors (INFO-01/A, IINF-05/A, MATH-02/A, MATH-02/B, MATH-03/A, MATH-03/B, MATH-04/A, MATH-05/A, MATH-06/A, STAT-01/B, CHEM-03/A, IMAT-01/A, PHYS-01/A, PHYS-03/A, PHYS-06/A) and 18 CFU in the listed electrical/electronic/automation sectors (IIET-01/A, IINF-01/A, IINF-04/A). For foreign curricula not expressed in CFU, 6 or 9 CFU is treated as one corresponding examination and 12 CFU as two examinations. For the 2026/27 non-EU-abroad selection, applicants need a foreign bachelor's or higher degree following at least three years of study and suitable for master's entry in the awarding country, plus the programme-specific preparation described below.

Good English at CEFR B2 or higher. For the non-EU-abroad selection it must be demonstrated by an accepted certificate or exemption evidence. The 2026/27 programme regulation states that English competence, and Italian competence for foreign-national applicants, is verified by curriculum/document review or an interview.

Curriculum and document review is the standard preparation check; the open-access programme regulation permits an interview to verify minimum subject knowledge, B2 English, Italian competence for foreign-national applicants, or potentially obsolete credits older than six years. For the non-EU-abroad selection, qualifications are scored out of 100: academic record up to 50 points, relevance of prior studies/experience up to 40, reference letter up to 5 and motivation up to 5; the board may require an online interview and/or test, and 50/100 is the suitability threshold. The exact date, location and detailed format of the 2026/27 EU/equated programme-specific interview could not be reliably extracted from the official scanned annex.

  • English certificate or exemption evidence; statement of purpose in English (maximum 4,000 characters); summary sheet; and optional supporting documents. EU/equated applicants seeking pre-evaluation of a foreign qualification submit the final secondary-school diploma and its Declaration of Value or comparability certificate, bachelor's degree and its Declaration of Value or comparability/verification documents, transcript or Diploma Supplement, official course syllabi, motivation letter, recommendation letter and English certificate.
