Applicants need a bachelor's degree or other suitable first-cycle qualification. For the Italian/EU/equated route, direct curricular eligibility is given to degrees in L-7 Civil and Environmental Engineering, L-8 Information Engineering, L-9 Industrial Engineering, L-18 Economics and Business Management, L-30 Physical Sciences and Technologies, L-31 Computer Science and Technologies, L-33 Economics, L-35 Mathematics, or L-41 Statistics, including equivalent former D.M. 509/1999 classes. Applicants from other degree classes need at least 9 CFU in MAT-06 and/or SECS-S/01 plus at least 9 CFU in INF/01 and/or ING-INF/05. Foreign-course equivalence is assessed by the programme commission. Preparation is automatically considered adequate with an eligible listed degree and a final mark of at least 90/110, or for a not-yet-graduated applicant a career average of at least 24/30; other cases are assessed from the personal curriculum and/or by interview or test. Admission with curricular deficits is not allowed. For the non-EU-abroad call, the foreign bachelor's or higher degree must follow at least three years of study and qualify its holder for master's-level entry in the awarding country.

English proficiency at CEFR B2 or higher is required, with fluent written and spoken use including disciplinary terminology. For the non-EU-abroad selection this is documented through an accepted certificate or exemption. In the Italian/EU/equated route, B2 may be demonstrated by a passed university English course with suitable certification/attestation; otherwise it is checked by interview. Non-native Italian speakers must also reach Italian B2 before admission to the final degree examination.

For the Italian/EU/equated route, curriculum review is the standard check. Applicants with an eligible degree and at least 90/110 (or not-yet-graduated applicants with at least 24/30 average) are considered adequately prepared. Applicants below 90/110, from another degree class, or whose knowledge is older than six years may be assessed by curriculum and/or an individual interview or test. The 2026/27 programme interview was scheduled for 17 September 2026 at 10:00 at DMI, Città Universitaria, covering INF/01, ING-INF/05, MAT-06 and SECS-S/01; the same session could verify B2 English where documentary proof was absent. For the non-EU-abroad selection, qualifications are scored out of 100 and the board may invite applicants to an online interview/test; 50/100 is the suitability threshold.

• • Non-EU-abroad selection: passport personal-data pages; bachelor's degree certificate or enrolment certificate showing expected graduation date; official Italian/English translations where needed; transcript listing courses, exams, grades, grading range and preferably GPA; official syllabi on university letterhead or validated by university stamp; reference letter (preferably from a university lecturer)

  • English-language certificate or exemption evidence; statement of purpose in English (maximum 4,000 characters); summary sheet; and optional supporting documents. For the Italian/EU/equated Smart_Edu route, UNICT graduates attach their updated academic career; applicants graduating elsewhere submit the prescribed self-certification of studies plus valid identity document, or an updated academic record. Holders of foreign qualifications also use the pre-evaluation process and provide the foreign degree, transcript/course documentation and recognition evidence requested by UNICT.
