Access is free (no numerus clausus) but curricular preparation is verified before enrolment by the competent Master's Degree Committee (C.C.L.M.), per Art. 6(2) of DM 270/04. Admission requires either: (a) a Bachelor's degree in class L-7 or L-23 (DM 270/04), or classes 04 or 08 (DM 509/99), which grants direct access; OR (b) a 3-year Italian university degree/diploma or an equivalent foreign qualification recognised as suitable, PLUS a minimum of 42 CFU in base scientific-disciplinary sectors (MAT/03 Geometry, MAT/05 Mathematical Analysis, MAT/07 Mathematical Physics, FIS/01 Experimental Physics, CHIM/07 Chemical Foundations of Technology) AND a minimum of 54 CFU in characterising sectors (ICAR/01 Hydraulics, ICAR/04 Roads/Railways/Airports, ICAR/06 Surveying and Cartography, ICAR/07 Geotechnics, ICAR/08 Structural Mechanics, ICAR/09 Structural Engineering, ING-IND/11 Applied Physics, ICAR/10 Architectural Engineering, ICAR/20 Urban and Regional Planning). If credits fall short of these thresholds but reach at least 36 CFU (base) and 48 CFU (characterising) respectively, admission is subject to case-by-case evaluation by the C.C.L.M. Candidates must also show at least 15 years of total prior education (per the general UNIME Master's admission rule).

A minimum B2-level English certification (CEFR or equivalent) is explicitly required for admission to the Civil Engineering Master's programme. At the university-wide (UniME) level, applicants to English-taught programmes must upload an International English Language Certificate (CEFR B2) to the language section of the application, unless exempt. Certificates accepted by UniME: IELTS 5.5+ (valid up to 2 years), TOEFL iBT 72+ (valid up to 2 years), Cambridge English B2 First or higher, PTE General Level 3 (B2 CEFR+), PTE Academic 59+. Exempt categories include native English speakers from a defined list of countries/territories, holders of a degree taught entirely in English from those countries/territories, IB Diploma holders (English-medium), and applicants taking a standardised English-medium admission test where compulsory. Italian is not required for the English-taught curriculum, though UNIME offers optional Italian-language courses (via DICAM) and free e-learning (UnimeStone) for international students.

No separate written entrance exam or interview is specified for this open-access programme. Admission is via document-based curricular evaluation ('verifica della preparazione dello studente') carried out before enrolment by the programme's competent committee, per the procedures in the course's academic regulations (Regolamento Didattico). UNIME also runs periodic 'UnimeStone' English Proficiency Test sessions (noted in the programme's own notices, e.g. June 2026 and February 2026 sessions) that can be used to demonstrate the required English level.

• Bachelor's Degree diploma or official provisional certificate issued by the university (candidate must show at least 15 years of total education)

• Transcript of records (exams passed in the previous degree programme)

• Copy of a valid passport

• International English Language Certificate (CEFR B2) or proof of an exemption category

• Universitaly pre-enrolment application (for visa-required non-EU applicants, submitted after receiving the UniME admission letter)
