Secondary school diploma (or other qualification obtained abroad suitable for access to an equivalent university course), or enrolment in the final year of secondary school pending the final exam. Foreign qualifications are eligible if obtained after attendance of the last two years of the foreign education system, allow access to a similar course of study in the country of origin, and were obtained after 12 years of schooling. University-wide (international.unime.it) Bachelor's requirements also apply: high school diploma after 12 years of education (provisional certificate accepted if not yet issued; if diploma is under 12 years, an academic certificate of first-year university exams passed, or a Foundation Programme completion certificate, is required), plus a University Entrance Exam Certificate if required by the applicant's national education system.

English knowledge at least CEFR B2 is required to enrol. Applicants may satisfy this via: (a) an international English certificate recognised by MIUR-accredited certifying bodies, (b) declaring themselves native English speakers, or (c) self-certifying citizenship/residence in a country where English is the official language. University-wide accepted certificates (international.unime.it): IELTS 5.5+, TOEFL iBT 72+, Cambridge English B2 First+, PTE General Level 3 (B2)+, PTE Academic 59+ (valid up to two years from test date). Exemptions apply for native speakers from listed English-speaking countries/territories, holders of a degree taught entirely in English from those countries, IB Diploma holders (English-medium), and takers of a standardised English-language admission test.

Entrance skills/basic-knowledge test required of all first-time enrollees: administered via the CISIA TOLC system, specifically the English TOLC-E (TOLC-SU test guide also referenced), as UNIME is a member of the CISIA consortium. No further programme-specific selection test beyond this basic-knowledge check is described on the official pages.
