A.Y. 2026/27 (D.R. 91/2026): secondary school diploma, or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable for access to university studies in Italy; students in the last or penultimate year of secondary school may take the TOLC-I, but those who finish school in 2027 enrol in A.Y. 2027/28. Foreign qualification eligibility is checked by the Ufficio Concorsi, Immatricolazioni e Iscrizioni and all candidates are admitted conditionally. Minimum TOLC-I score for ranking: 18/50 in the early sessions (Prima/Seconda Sessione Anticipata); 12/50 in the Standard and Extraordinary sessions, where scores between 12 and 17.75 create an additional learning obligation (OFA). Poliba's general overview asks non-EU applicants for a secondary school certificate awarded after at least 12 years of schooling and the national university entrance exam certificate (e.g. gaokao) only if compulsory in the home country; authenticity via CIMEA / ENIC-NARIC attestation, apostille/legalisation or contact with the school.

English certificate of at least B1 is required at enrolment (not at application). Recognised certificates listed in D.R. 91/2026 Art. 2.1: Cambridge PET (B1), Trinity ISE I (grades 5-6), Edexcel International London Test of English level 2, Pitman ESOL/SESOL intermediate, TOEFL (paper 347/440, computer 63/123, TSE 30, TWE 3), IELTS 4.5-5.5. Without a recognised certificate the candidate must pass a test at a recognised certifying body or at the Poliba Language Centre (languages@poliba.it). A valid CEnT result is also accepted (as admission test). No Italian language requirement is stated for this English programme [uncertain: Poliba's general overview mentions Italian B2 for Engineering programmes without singling out this English one].

TOLC-I (CISIA engineering test): Mathematics 20 q/50 min, Logic 10 q/20 min, Sciences 10 q/20 min, Reading Comprehension 10 q/20 min = 110 min, max 50 points (+1 correct, -0.25 wrong, 0 blank); an extra 30-question English section is not counted in the ranking. Poliba delivers it only as TOLC@CASA (from home); a TOLC-I taken at any Italian university (from 1 Feb 2025 within the session windows) is also valid but the result PDF must be sent through helpdesk.poliba.it by the session deadline. Alternative for this programme only: CEnT (CISIA English Test), 55 points converted to 50, taken at any CISIA university or at home; result sent through helpdesk.poliba.it by the same deadlines (CEnT fee EUR 55, per the CEnT guide). TOLC-I dates at Poliba in 2026: 3-4 September (First Standard Session, past) and 18 November 2026 (Extraordinary Session); CISIA test fee EUR 35.

• • For the Esse3 competition registration (D.R. 91/2026 Art. 5): registration on Esse3, valid ID document (same as used at the TOLC-I) and a recognisable photo uploaded by the session deadline
  • TOLC-I/CEnT result PDF sent via helpdesk.poliba.it if the test was taken elsewhere
  • CISIA registration and EUR 35 TOLC-I fee (paid to CISIA). For enrolment (Art. 12): photo, scan of ID document, self-declaration of secondary diploma; payment of the enrolment tax (T1: regional tax plus EUR 16 stamp duty, EUR 136 stated on Poliba's admissions page for 2026); the ISEE certificate for university benefits issued in 2026 is acquired automatically from INPS (without it the maximum contribution is charged)
