(1) A secondary-school leaving diploma ('diploma di scuola secondaria di secondo grado') or another qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable by LUM's competent bodies. LUM's English enrolment page adds that international applicants need the mandatory 12 years of schooling; otherwise they must first enrol in LUM's one-year Foundation Year. (2) Basic knowledge consistent with upper-secondary programmes in Mathematics and Logic and in verbal comprehension (English), checked by the entry test (see entry_exam_or_test); no minimum diploma grade or GPA is published (diploma grade only matters for the merit fee reductions). (3) English at CEFR level B2 (see language_requirements). Exemption from the entry test: holders of an Italian university degree with at least 6 CFU in mathematics-statistics subjects; internal transfers from another LUM degree who already passed the verification or cleared the OFA, or have at least 6 CFU in mathematics-statistics; transfers from another university with at least 6 CFU in mathematics-statistics.

English: a certificate of CEFR level B2 is required for admission (Regulation Art. 13(2), A.Y. 2026/27), either attested by LUM's University Language Centre (CLA) or issued by English-language certifying bodies recognised by MIUR. In addition, half of the entry test (10 questions, pass mark 5) is English reading comprehension. The pages read do not list accepted certificate names or minimum scores, exemptions (e.g. native speakers / English-medium schooling), certificate validity, or whether the certificate must be shown at application or only at enrolment. Italian: not required (all teaching is in English); LUM's Admissions page ties the Italian-language requirement to programmes taught in Italian. Separate, later requirement for the optional double degrees: IELTS 6.0 (Manifesto 2026-27).

Entry / initial-preparation verification test (Regulation Art. 13, A.Y. 2026/27): 20 multiple-choice questions, one correct answer each, 60 minutes - 10 on mathematics and logic and 10 on English verbal comprehension (analysis of an economic or general-culture text). Pass mark: at least 5 correct answers in each of the two areas. The test can be taken only once per academic year. Failing an area does not prevent enrolment: OFA (additional educational obligations) are assigned for that area only and must be cleared within the first year (ad hoc courses or online material with tutors, at least 85% attendance plus a final test; comprehension OFA are also cleared by 6 CFU of programme courses, mathematics OFA by the 6-CFU Mathematics module of 'Mathematics for Economics'); students who have not cleared them by the end of year 1 must pass one last check, otherwise they cannot enrol in year 2. Date / window of the test: not published on the pages read; the programme page only says the test 'will be conducted on the faculty' with links to tutorials (app download, verification test, OFA recovery; hosted on Google Drive, not read). LUM's generic enrolment FAQ says open-access enrolment is 'senza test' [without a test], which appears to mean without a selection test.

• • EU / Italy-resident applicants (online enrolment via MYLUM / Esse3, A.Y. 2026/27 Manifesto and enrolment page): secondary-school diploma or recognised foreign qualification, uploaded with the online application; enrolment application on a EUR 16 revenue stamp (bollo); simultaneous payment of the first instalment and the regional right-to-study tax
  • English B2 certificate (Reg. Art. 13). LUM's enrolment guide for A.Y. 2024/25 (older year) also lists a copy of the diploma, a copy of an identity document and a copy of the tax code (codice fiscale). Non-EU applicants living abroad - documents to upload on Universitaly, per LUM's English 'Admissions' page (its text still refers to a.y. 2022/23-2023/24, so verify with LUM): high-school diploma translated into Italian and legalised by the issuing country's authorities
  • Declaration of Value from the Italian embassy or CIMEA statement of comparability (only if already held); if the home system has fewer than 12 years of schooling, a university enrolment certificate with list of exams or a post-secondary qualification, or a foundation-course certificate; academic suitability certificate if provided in the country of origin; identity document; any certificate of competence in Italian. Diplomas and certificates in French, English, German and Spanish are also accepted. After admission LUM issues an official invitation letter (via the International Office) for the study-visa application.
